NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

I can't see Mitchell being remotely interested in us signing DCL. His remit is to make our transfer activity more fit for purpose.

DCL would be an expensive stopgap at best. Yes, he offers us something different and Eddie seems keen on having a proper, physical centre forward but Mitchell will take one look at the costs and his injury record and bin the idea

DCL played 33 games last season and has played all games so far this season.

He'a just not v. good and hasn't been since the days of Carlo. 16 goals in 76 PL appearances.

I reckon we have to sell Isak in the summer as well so getting a replacement for him will be key, obviously DCL would be poor in that regard as he isn't close to Isaks ability.

One of him or Bruno I reckon, at least. Due to age you would prefer Bruno. But contract wise you might be forced to sell Isak within the next 24 months anyway,.

You could put Haaland in this current Everton team with Dyche as manager, and even his numbers would be poor.

Bar Southampton, they’re probably the worst offensive team in the league.

DCL is the player that has most under performed his Xg over the last 2 seasons. All players with decent minutes. It's him.

DCL is going to be looking for a big salary as a free transfer. I don't think we'll give him one as a backup striker, with our financial situation. Won't be at Newcastle I don't think.

If he picks his next club wisely, I think he's going to bounce back significantly from next season, and look more like the player he was under Carlo.

West Ham would be the way to go if I were advising him. Lots of dangerous players that create chances there.

Will not be too dissimilar to Wood looking much better at Forest.

Pretty much. Isn't this the reason we failed to sign him in the summer as part of the Minteh deal?

He's certainly been really poor himself too.

I can kind of see why though. It's been a demoralising club to be at lately, and he's often the main threat with all the burden of scoring the goals. They don't really create consistent quality chances either.

Going to be quite interesting to see what happens with him when he leaves. I think he bounces back in the right environment.

Yeah, it was mentioned he was looking for 100k, and that will be bumped up a bit as a free transfer I imagine.

We’ll see next season when they have to replace him. Best of luck to whoever gets that gig…
