It feels like this window is going to have the most churn in a very long time. In terms of depth, we already need the following:

 

Centre Back, Left Back, Centre Mid & Right Wing 

 

Then you count the fact we're likely to lose:

 

Longstaff, Wilson, Dubs, Vlach, Ruddy, Lascelles. Then add in, Gordon, Willock and Trippier as potentially exits.

 

With the exits, I feel as a minimum this summer we really need:

 

1x Goalkeeper,

1x Centre Back,

1x Left Back,

1x Centre Mid,

1x Right Wing 

1x Striker

 

Potentially add a right back another centre back and a left winger if the potential exits leave.

 

Until I sat down a wrote this, I didn't quite realise just how much work we needed to do, it's a mammoth summer

No money mercenaries for me. He’s 21 and still developing. Let him develop along side arguably one of the most in demand forwards in the world, under a world class coach!

Your right though, I fully expect us to go in to the next season with some holes mind.

No, playing as first choice starting for a club like Man U gets your name in the England squad .

I wouldn’t- he hasn’t been right second half of this season, Howe has given him plenty of chances and Howe needs to think of the next step up as we have hit CL twice in three years, we need consistency. I love him though and wouldn’t be bothered either way personally.

I think we’ll sell one of our starters, probably either Gordon or Tino. It’s pretty strange for a club to just go year after year not selling anyone of any value. A lot of work needs done to the squad given the lack of movement over the past few years.

Which of our players have shown this consistency you are talking about? Cant think of anyone who has not had a poor period the last couple of years.

Tino is untouchable for me, I couldn’t name a comparable player in any league at a young age with his attributes.

Not sure we'll sell Vlach. If we really paid £20m for him, you'd have to wonder what we could realistically get for him. Whatever that is, it's likely to be at a big loss, which means less headroom this year.

 

That being the case, reckon we keep him in that 3rd choice spot. Then again, you lose a few million every year for someone who isn't playing.

 

Not a great deal for us and he might be alright for all I know, but it was probably the best of a bad situation at the time.

 

2-3 first team players and some talented development squad players please. Obviously, with a sale that changes.

I presume if we do get Delap then the pitch to him will not have been that he’s coming to be Isak’s backup. There’ll definitely be plans for them to be on the pitch together quite a bit.

 

Remember how utterly fucking devastating they were together when we would start one of Isak/Wilson and then bring the other on for the last half hour, Isak on the left and Wilson through the middle?

 

Think there’s a fair chance the plan would be for them to start alternating games, playing 90 minutes when they start and then being on the bench for the next game with a guaranteed half hour against tired legs.

 

It’s plenty of football for both of them IMO, and there’s scope for us to start them both on occasion too.

 

Would possibly mean one of Gordon or Barnes becomes expendable though.

I'm not criticising Isak or dropping him at all, he's one of the best CFs in the world imo but I also think he's good enough to drop 15 yards deeper and get move involved in the build up. He's that good he could do it and excel at it. Would definitely like to see it at some point

I like the idea of paper a lot, the concern would be the defensive side of things. Yesterday was a good example of needing 3 midfielders who can cover ground, having Idak (albeit as a 10) and Bruno playing deeper concerns me.
