I do think today’s been positive. I think the fact that multiple names are in play means we’re getting more aggressive in the market. I think we will see movement quickly now on our top striker. Hopefully an agreement can be in place sometime next week, with Wissa also agreed over this weekend. Also, I think we’ll face a lot less competition for the players were after now

I wonder why we are so slow to get deals done or even start them off ? Is it cos we are trying to save money or does it take time to convince a player to come ? It wasn't that long ago that deals were done in a matter of hours, the ones we do these seem to drag on for weeks or even months.

But we'd end up with a better squad than we ended last season with. 

 

Any combination of Wissa & Samu/Muani/Ramos/Jackson would be better than Isak and Wilson IMO. Ramsdale and Pope is better than Pope and Dubs. Elanga is an upgrade on not having a RW to rival Murphy. Thiaw would be an upgrade on Lascelles/Krafth and can rival Schar. Rudoni or Taylor is an upgrade on Longstaff. 

 

The biggest problem is that these players are coming in so late in the window they'll never be up to speed by the time Villa and Liverpool come around.
