Very mixed feelings on Larsen, not quick, seems clumsy, very poor finishing at SJP last season but he’s big and gets into good positions. I wouldn’t be spending big money on him.

This was my impression too, couldn’t believe his goal tally when I saw it.

The club knows what to do and what we need, we just haven’t been able to execute or we’ve gone for slightly the right targets. I’d say this is actually the best time since well before Ashley for believing that the club’s view matches the view of most fans.

I’m a fan of Larsen like, good movement in the box & shoots well. He seemed to come into his own a bit more second half of the season when Cunha was unavailable.

Feel like we're crying out for someone of his mould against these low blocks. HIm and El Khannouss would open a lot of these teams.

He’s pretty mobile in general from what I’ve seen. Can’t see Wolves selling him mind.

Is that actually true though? How do we know? We could be negotiating for 2, 3 or 4 players behind the scenes, but they’re not necessarily coming to fruition.

It’s all just very toxic.  I’d love a window to just be sign some players we want early. Have a pre season, the end.

Of the names we've seen mentioned in the press, in no particular order, I would take

 

a) Either Strand Larsen or Muniz as cheaper/developmental punts

b) A cheaper alternative from the continent (Kalimuendo would be one example)

c) Ollie Watkins if the PSR calculations were deemed to be favourable and Villa weren't going to hold us to ransom to a ridiculous extent (two big ifs, I know) 

 

The above would be with a view to re-assessing the market next summer, giving us some time to hopefully identify the next Isak/Sesko/Ekitike etc.

Signing Jackson would essentially be confining ourselves to signing a Chelsea castoff as our flagship no.9 for the foreseeable. There is no world where it isn't a huge downgrade. 

 

 

 

Why would it be confining us to him for the foreseeable? There’s nothing to say you don’t sign another striker next summer. There’s also a chance he finally lives up to his potential under a manager who is known for improving players. If Arsenal aren’t too proud to sign a player from Chelsea I’m not sure we should be.

Man City had the best window by far, got great signings very early and all for very reasonable prices none of them were an overpay

It would be nice to have a relatively exciting one. The only two we’ve been ‘involved’ in were the one that resulted in Keegan’s constructive dismissal and not signing Bryan Ruiz.

We’re due stability for sure. Hopefully that comes with the new ceo and sporting director.

No idea, they did try change it a few seasons back to close before the season started but it didn’t work

Other leagues windows differ. Personally I’d close it before the season started. The excuse that it left PL teams vulnerable to losing players to other leagues never washed with me as all you’ve got to say is no

It didn't work because no other league made the change. I believe there was an attempt to get all the major leagues to agree to the change for this summer, but not every league agreed so it hasn't happened.
