I wonder why we never gave kuol a run out in pre season. 

By all accounts he was doing well in the u21s last season, harrison got game time and a few others just seemed odd.

I think it shows quite conclusively that the club are aware of what time remains.

 

The issue is that if we go back to Brentford every day with a new and higher bid, guess what Brentford are going to keep doing in response?

 

Brentford need to get a real sense that we are prepared to walk away, and that they may not get the money which the likely need long term.

 

They may just not sell but I suspect if we go high enough they will accept but if they wont give us a fee, we dont know what to aim for and could end up going above what they want... which is a problem.

Doing well in u21 and being good enough to make the first team squad don't necessarily equate. He is clearly not rated and will most likely leave on a free next year

I guess the main purpose of preseason is to prepare the first team squad for the upcoming season not necessarily giving young players a run out for the sake of it. If Kuol got no game time during preseason, the most likely reason is that the coaching team does not see him in their plans for the 1st team

Who's out there that's realistic. Loan with obligation to buy end of season (Hall style), experienced pick up (Trippier style), or just outright splurge on someone for £20m+?
