PSR workaround or not, the fact somebody thought it was OK to pay £45m for Joe Gomez man, Christ almighty.

Add that to the ever growing list that includes Elanga, Wissa, Strand Larsen et al of signings/bids that just blow my mind. Pure cucks for bang average players playing in the Premier League.

Who's actually signing off this shit

This guy 👇🏻

45 million for Joe Gomez. Sweet Jesus our recruitment needs to be checked for money laundering or something.

I remember being outraged 2 years ago, and I'm outraged all over again 2 years later.

I don't doubt that he'd be a good addition to the squad when fit, problem is he's 28 and has had 4 major injuries, one of which is recurring. Bloke isn't going to be kicking a ball far into his 30's.

Why are we dredging up two year old transfer rumours again?

It was possibly the wrong thread to post it in tbh, given it isn’t a current rumour in any way, shape or form.

I posted it as it seemed the figures quoted were a relatively new revelation, and in that sense, worthy of note/discussion.

The discussion has subsequently morphed a bit into some thinking we’re seemingly back in for him or whatever.

Need someone to post another link to a South American wonderkid so we can all move on.

There's now reports that Delap wants to stay at Chelsea and they are looking to keep him, and Joao Pedro has also now established himself as the main man upfront there. They are also apparently looking at getting a new striker in, and if they land Xabi Alonso, I think it's very likely this striker will be Gonzalo Garcia who they've had links to, and who Alonso rated at Real and gave his debut and lots of minutes.

Nicholas Jackson will be on his way out, but I can't see us looking at him, especially as Chelsea are looking for a decent amount of money, and it's currently looking more likely he'll be on his way to Saudi.

The guy that's not been spoken about much recently, that's due to arrive at Chelsea this summer also, having done a deal for him last season, is Emanuel Emegha. Apparently, he was high on our list last summer to replace Isak, coming off a really good season at Strasbourg, but the deal never really got off the ground due to the Blueco foolishness with Chelsea, who then signed him instead and kept him at Strasbourg.

He's since had a stop start season with injuries and hasn't played as much, and Chelsea are now reportedly looking to sell him instead this summer along with Jackson to improve their finances, and cover the new striker signing they'll be making.

I wonder if he'll still be on Newcastle's list, and whether we might look at him again this summer.

Is he a quick presser? If the answer is “yes” then it’s a guarantee we will be.

I was thinking about the Emegha transfer to Chelsea the other day. If we do go for him I guess it depends how desperate Chelsea are to sell. Unfortunately with the multi club model they have they could easily just send him back to Strasbourg for another season to try and boost his value after having a stop start season, rather than sell him to us and not make any money from what they paid.

He sounded like he had a lot of potential after the season he had last year.

We were linked with Balogun recently.

There's been an update around what might happen with him this summer.

Folarin Balogun wants to return to England. Monaco, who bought Folarin Balogun from Arsenal for 30 million euros in the summer of 2023, expects to make a significant profit. The outcome of this transfer is expected to be decided after the World Cup, as players' values may change depending on their performances in the competition. No club is expected to take action before the end of the season, though they are likely to further their interest soon after.

Chelsea apparently need to make some sales this summer to get some money in, especially as they will be missing out on the Champions League. As I mentioned they are also looking at bringing in another striker this summer already to add to Joao Pedro and Delap.

On top of that in Emegha's absence this season another young striker has had a storming season at Strasbourg,

Joaquín Panichelli, and so he'll likely be starting for them going forward as Chelsea are also keeping an eye on him now for a future transfer.

Looks like there will be an opportunity to go for Emegha because of how all these situations have played out.

They won't be shifting Emegha, Jackson and Gui will likely be flogged

I'm advocating a "Cor Blimey no limeys" transfer policy to exist alongside our No thanks for Yanks and Get fucked Canucks policies.

I'm going off the report in the article I posted.

Unless you work for Chelsea I have no idea why you'd state this so matter of factly [emoji38]

Of course I dont work for Chelsea and I don't know this it just appears to be unlikely as they have other assets whom theyvd actually amortizatised more.

Wew we need Frenchies. And the war ended ages ago. Japanese players are class. Ideally we would have a squad of moody French cunts, some class Japanese lads and Dan Burn.

I'm commenting on what has been mentioned in an article I posted.

Your refuting it based on your feelings I guess, which was just very strange [emoji38]
