Agreed long summer ahead and shit can change quickly, hopefully for the better. But I’m over giving the benefit of the doubt to high paid football suits who need to earn the fans trust. I will not fault their hard work, hours on the job, and dedication to the task but this is a results business. Sure there are a myriad of variables and things at play that ultimately are not in our control, but we deserve better, lord knows we care so deeply about having a good, successful football club.

I was hoping we would have moved well past the point of just being grateful Ashley is gone come what may, the club still needs to perform in a way that resembles it's own supposed ambition.

What im saying is, and im not telling anyone how to behave, that perhaps the whinging to the levels of the Ashley era is perhaps over the top.

Of course we are allowed to expect more the current ownership.

I just find anyone crying on, a little pathetic and without the ability to reflect.

If I was previously homeless and now lived in a flat, id probably not cry about a draft in the window.

Couldn’t agree more. Micro analysing every article will send you under.

Most of them are nonsense anyway.

I'm actively avoiding most of the podcasts and youtube channels where they end up talking for an hour about potential signings, only to find they've fucked off somewhere else at the 12th hour.

Absolutely pointless and it will indeed drive you mad.

Back to the policy of waiting until a player is signed sealed and delivered before even watching youtube highlights.

People are obsessed with Brighton

Obsessed with good recruitment which finds high quality premier league players for relatively low fees and often with little competition. The reason smaller clubs get brought up is we can offer better, like the cartel does with our targets. Camara was available for 20mil a couple of seasons ago. Baturina went for 16 last year. If ya don’t like Brighton then Monaco, Red Bull clubs, not really the point

If we are simply saying we should be buying some of the players Brighton are after, how come we never say the same about Everton (Ndiaye) Palace (Eze, Olise) and so on.

Get Brightons transfer record up and let's see how many shite players they sign too? The difference is that the shite players they sign are normally cheap and its off set easily because of their policy to bend over to every big club who wants their players.

We could do that you know? Just sell our best players every season like them.

Isak 63m- 120m

Gordon 45- 65

Tonali 55- 95?

Hall 30- 60?

And so on.

Being a PL football side whos only desire is to simply exist is very very easy. Its ambition which is the killer. The need to keep players or sign more established players, that's where it becomes tricky.

Yes id like sign some players that Brighton target but that's it, i dont want their shitty little club compared to ours in any other metric.

Yeah but what have Brighton and Brentford achieved by selling all their players? They've not won a cup or get anywhere near the Champions League

We sold our best player last year for a huge profit and we were all fuming

So you know for a fact that we hadn't talked to Osasuna whatsoever before the Gordon deal happened?

Changed his agents at the close of the season getting ready for a move.  Mid-Gordon deal

Also widely reported Real Madrid delayed negotiations until after their presidential elections which ended 8th June.

Notice I’m talking actual negotiations.  Clubs talk all the time. Agents talk all the time.  Most don’t lead to a formal bid. Most of it doesn’t lead to a deal.  Ours didn’t. LOL.

So we were indeed talking to both.

We're being linked with Jean-Matteo Bahoya apparently. The source wasn't obvious though and I couldn't be arsed to find it.

He was discussed on here early on, before any links for the left wing really came out.

There are a lot of really good young options for that left side, a silly amount almost, and so we should end up with someone decent ultimately.

Linked with Arsenal and Spurs, so likely a no lube buggering if we try and get ideas above our station and pinch a Cartel target.

So this is actually a good example of one that should be done quickly now.

Arsenal are still prioritising Barcola first and Spurs are still prioritising Savinho first. They'll likely only pivot later on if negotiations for those aren't progressing well.

This is always my issue with the glorifying of Brighton and Brentford.

They're multi-club models that sign loads of players using data and analytics only to end up finishing no higher than 6th. If either had invested in their academy and had 3-4 local lads in the team I would have more admiration for them, but they don't. Instead they sell one wonder kid from the Bolivian second division for 100m and convince people they shouldn't be worried about the 4-5 players signed who did nothing to facilitate that one lad's development.

That's a lot of meh to be writing home about.

Precisely. They go for alot of good European youngsters around the 20m mark and gamble that they will hit the jackpot on a couple to keep the club going.

I will praise them on getting good coaches and consistency of process.

Haven't seen a huge amount of him, but pretty similar to the ones we've been looking at really. Super quick and direct and beats players one on one. Should still improve loads.

Actually wouldn't be surprised if people prefer him to Munoz as I think he looks better technically when it comes to his touch and close control.

There is no big risk in this, if the player observation team is good, you can see who is talented, it is not very possible to fail on these players, but to win a lot. We should do the same, that is why we pay people to solve them, Wissa cost a lot, Ramsey was not cheap either, and Woltemade came at a horror price, Elanga too. We could have bought 10 young talents for that amount, and I don't think they would play worse.
