80
My GOD he's nervous on camera. Looked like he wanted to cry and vomit at the same time. But more importantly, very confident on the pitch. Really impressive performance - his first start and he was setting the tone for our whole defence. Trippier looked very proud of him and rightly so. Wolfcastle
One more score for the recruitment division. Needed the players but balked at the price Southampton were haggling for, considering FFP, but they really wanted him. Fair to say they know what they're doing. Dr.Spaceman
What a fucking player we've signed here btw.
Yorkie
I love Burn but it'd be a bit tasty if Livramento could play that well at LB n'all...

Must be an Ashworth signing, Howe is shit in the transfer market, as we’ve seen with Tonali

Lotus
That was an excellent defensive performance. I actually doubt Trippier could’ve done better defensively. It’s the other aspects that Trippier brings that’s so important.
MrRaspberryJam
Like a young Peter Ramage.
Jonas
A beauty of a night like this was to test out such things, in hindsight even preferably against someone like City where you get battle-tested. There'll be no qualms seeing him in starting XI's in PL or CL based on that which is a lush bonus, though Eddie and team probably already fully knew this. We know Tripps can play LB very well. Big fan of BDB too but wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the season we're regularly lining up Trippier - Botman - Schar - Tino
Disco
Was superb but given all his reputation was on his forward play knowing he will only get better defensively too is a yuge
Vaj
One of the best debuts I have seen at Newcastle in a long time, especially considering the quality he was up against. He was brilliant!

The College Dropout
Was really good in every aspect of his game. Distribution. Delivery. 1v1 he was good. Confident on the ball. Needs minutes. A lot of them.

McDog
Would love to see Tripps at LB once in a while with Tino at RB. Tino at RW when needed also.

Dr Jinx
You still need Tripps for the leadership, influence on the pitch but there’s definitely a scenario where both start. Both taking turns going forward and the other covering.
Pata
Really impressive. Everyone knows he’s good going forward but that was a monstrous defensive performance. Wondering if he could be an option as a DM.
