Did have a very instinctive goal against Villa when we were 3 or 4 up, but other times he looks too hesitant. Need a bit more determination in those moments. Will probably be better with time. Totally understandable but it doesn’t have to be a goal, an assist can be just as important. That shit decision of his not to pass the ball to Wilson felt like him trying to be the match winner and it cost us big time. Time will tell how that pans out but if Barnes isn’t starting regularly for us something has gone dreadfully wrong somewhere, especially given the fact we sold ASM to finance the deal. As for Barnes he barely got the ball - was crying out for it and was free much of the time. But we kept trying to pass through the lines, which was easily dealt with by Liverpool.
