His recent fitness record at Leicester was fine (missed 5-6 games in 2 seasons), so we're either really unlucky or have a bunch of knackers in the medical/rehab department.

Judging from Botman’s injury being missed, i’m going to say the latter.

I don't think that was the real problem. It's more about how some players who join us goes from never injured to allways injured once they sign for us. It's not something you can predict, but surely it can't be pure coincidence at this point?

According to a lot it’s just bad luck. Weird how players with little injury history is now made of glass somehow after signing for us

The first injury of Barnes was a freak one, but a hamstring injury is very unusual for him. Kind of alarming. Hope he is fine, obviously.

Selling ASM for him has to be one of the worst decisions we've made in a long time.

Because ASM had an immaculate fitness record right? He was literally the furthest thing from a Howe ball winger in pretty much every way.

3 times as many minutes last season than Barnes this season. Season before 10 times.

Sometimes something different is good. So many similar players now we can't change anything.

Barnes broke his foot early on, it’s a freak injury that you can’t predict or account for.

Something different is something different, but then theres players that are not suitable for certain play styles, ASM is the latter.

The jury is out on Barnes, but we don't miss ASM.

tbf (and this is without checking how many games he's played) ASM has not been injured this season, so fair to say we do miss him. We probably wouldn't miss him if Barnes could stay fit.

Barnes has literally contributed more than ASM this season already in less than a third of the appearances

We don't know too many things without a crystal ball, but I think we all know ASM would have missed at least 50% of the games if he was still here!

That's worded much worse than it is. We have 1 more game until the international break which we would lose with Barnes anyway.

Most important contribution to the season so far has been getting injured against Sheff Utd forcing Gordon to come on and rip them apart. Things can only get better I guess.

Purely due to bad luck though, no?

With Barnes yes, but we obvioulsy failed to do our homework on Hall and Tonali.
