Lacking fitness says Edward. Behind the other players

This tends to be the case with new players under Howe especially as we didn't get him in earlier in the off season like we did with Tonali.

Gordon is only just getting up to speed with Howe's approach.

So expecting him to need a bit of time to settle in.

Did he play? Has he gotten a lot of minutes in pre season? Looked fit and sharp?

Eh? You were watching today’s game weren’t you??

This is what he does from that wide position.

A legit wide forward. The guy's finishing is quality.

Does a great job of making those forward runs from out wide and opens up his body so we'll to finish. Great to have this on the left side now to balance with Miggy who is showing no signs of letting up.

Going to be great having two decent, and productive, left wingers fighting for a place in the team!

He was very good today, as good as Gordon for me and with goals. But... on another day Gordon would have put two away as well (two posts yesterday)

From the left, right foot. Struck well and basically in the corner. Similar goals. Looked good, knows where the net is!

Thanks

He just feels like a really smart buy for us. He's about as good a player as you could want for one of our major gameplans last season - overload right to create an isolation on the left for a switch. Also, outside of Isak and Wilson (and maaaybe Miggy if he does it again this year), we lack consistent finishers and that was one of the big problems when we had our runs of draws. It's important to have lots of available goalscorers in the squad of course but you want a core group you can always rely on.

I think Howe will do a lot of tactical rotation of the front 3 this season but Big Harvey will gets loads of minutes and goals/assists to his name.

Yeah he's even better than I thought. He's going to score a hat full the way we play.

He's got that knack of finding himself space in goalscoring areas.

Also, he looked up to the pace of our game. Never looked tired.
