Wait... since when did so many of our fanbase become like this?

Two Man United nonces post complete nonsense stories and suddenly it's panic stations.

As if Dan Burn is now ahead of Lewis Hall. Could Hall be a bit unhappy? Maybe. Most of the squad probably are after a poor season, that's how players are supposed to feel when standards haven't been met.

He also missed out on the World Cup squad because Nico O'Reilly has come through at an incredible rate. Could he leave? Possibly. Any player could. But it would take huge money and it would happen on our terms.

Would it be disappointing? Of course. But if the club genuinely thought Hall was likely to go, we'd be seeing a lot more links to left backs than we currently are, because we'd have zero recognised option left in the squad.

Really hope there is nothing in these rumours, I would be incredibly disappointed if he were to leave.

I love big Dan but if the decision to play Burn over Hall has annoyed the latter, then that would be a bitter pill to swallow.

Hopefully it's all a load of rubbish.

Is it not a good thing a player is annoyed he’s been dropped?

It cannot be very nice dropping you, then the manager coming out with the team he fielded he can trust.

Hall had a couple of iffy games and was dropped, yet thiaw botman burn tonali Murphy play and are trusted. 😂

He's not, but I can imagine he wasn't that happy at losing his England spot for the world cup and he might feel what happened at Newcastle affected that.

But that would be nonsense. And even it was true, it would be football and absolutely no reason to leave the club.

There’s been a dramatic decline in fan quality over this season

Well that cheered me up

The trauma of the Isak thing seems to have permanently ruined some of our fans.

You could easily argue that it's up to the club to rebuild a lot of the confidence that was lost from that saga and last summer as a whole, to be fair like.

This is obviously an extremely tenuous rumour, but if we got to the end of the window and had sold Hall, you wouldn't exactly by lifting my jaw up from the floor.

Is the Athletic reporting this

Maybe this is where all the speculation has come from - https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7324417/2026/06/02/manchester-united-transfers-summer-2026/?source=emp_shared_article&unlocked_article_code=1.nFA.k4K3.ppEnkcpi4gL6

Edit: Just seen Ben Jacobs is tweeting about it as well - hate that bloke.  It's pure speculation.

The reasons Hall isn’t in the England squad is he was injured for large parts of the season, he put in some poor performances when he returned and Nico O’Reilly came on stronger,  nothing to do with Burn playing a couple of games at left back.

Thats not to say he doesn’t want to leave (who knows) but it would be nothing to do with not being picked for a couple of games.

I think from Hall’s perspective I can see why he would be fucked off. Weeks before the World Cup where he probably knew his window was closing, the manager very publicly shows he doesn’t trust you in your preferred position, relying on a CB playing out there. I think he was the probably already out of the squad for other factors, but his last chance was howked like.

This is a really harsh take imo and an example of more weight being put on the club's actions when the finger should be pointed moreso at the external forces. The club did everything it could to A, keep Isak and B, recruit someone of similar quality. It wasn't allowed to do either.

If people are worried about losing the likes of Hall then that should be because they accept the grim reality that we're extremely vulnerable to losing our best players no matter what we do. Isak proved that it's pointless assuming anyone is unsellable.

Clearly there's a universe out there where we manage last summer differently and get a better outcome, but I had a lot of sympathy for our people, and the suggestion we bent over and parted our cheeks was always total nonsense.

Tuchel obviously has a very high opinion of Dan Burn.  It's illogical to assume that he might have soured on Hall just because Eddie picked Burn ahead of him for a couple of games.
