Not really. They were organised, moved it well and we're really threatening on the break. We weren't at our very best, but that's partly because of the above.

We were better second half, but that was partly game state as well with Dortmund getting deeper.

Ok

Can’t really complain, we were a little below our usual level but Dortmund played well, really well organised without the ball and always dangerous on the counter.

When games are going like that it’s probably our biggest weakness.. chasing but against a team that’s happy for us to have the ball.. we didn’t have the ideas to break them down enough. The frustration grew.

Snatched at chances we did have and looks like a costly game with injuries.. Isak may be out for a spell and Murphy who’s been excellent this season with a dislocated shoulder. Tonali ban incoming.. it was good to have Willock back though.

Can't complain about Dortmund.. they did their homework.

Ref was an absolute tosser though.. he wasn’t giving us anything tonight. So much blatant stuff he let go

Really really disappointed with that performance. Dortmund were smart and knew exactly what to do and how to play it (to be expected given their experience in Europe for the last god knows how many years). We showed a lot of inexperience  in the game in general and couldn't figure them out yet still had 3 big moments which could easily have resulted in a goal.

They looked in control for most of the game and they deserved to win, they took one of their chances and we didn't. We looked sloppy as fuck and thick as fuck too at times, we looked like the novices we are in Europe and their experience told in the end. Passing was poor, tempo was slow and we rarely threatened. They nullified us and ripped us on the counter, we were just beaten by a better, smarter team.

We just need to put this in the lesson bank and learn from it as we'll have this situation again in the near future, similar to the Liverpool result. Learn from it, figure out what went wrong and be aware next time we're in this situation. This is why I was looking forward to watching this group  - it's 6 tough fixtures and at the end of them all we'll end up a better, savvy intelligent unit. It's a loss tonight but we need to learn from the experience

Thought we held our own and then some tonight, just got done in by some really astute attacking plays that nailed our vulnerabilities. On another night we come away with a 2-1 win, just wasn't meant to be. Few suspect performances but nothing to worry about long term. Just hope Isak and Murph are okay. As an aside, really like the attacking fret Targett can offer.

Targett did not put a foot wrong from the moment he came on

Not sure I agree with Dortmund being excellent given that second half like. Thought they were quite poor, very open on the left hand side and let us have a number of good chances. Definitely a good first half display though, looked good on break. Draw would have been fair.

If we did that at their place everyone would be over the moon

Joelinton was garbage mind. Not his fault exactly but rarely if ever offers anything against a low block.

If we beat them and finish on same points, it goes to goal difference. Was a bit surprised we threw Pope up because 0-2 could have been worth a point to them.

Head to head goal difference?

What happens if three teams all end up on the same points and each team has beaten another team twice? So Team 1 has beaten Team 2 twice, Team 2 has been Team 3 twice and Team 3 has beaten Team 1 twice?
