Was there any reason he started?  I did raise an eyebrow when he was named. Perhaps because I don’t rate him.

As stated, Burn suspended, but then arguably had Krafth not got injured, he would have started alongside Schar rather than kelly.

Na, Kelly was always starting in Burns place. We get wrecked aerially if we are playing with Schar and Krafh.

Very poor for the first goal and had a few nervy moments, but he handled Antonio very well and made a very good tackle second half to stop a possible goal.

I’m all for calling out the negatives but let’s not ignore the good things he did too.

this is not necessarily a defence of him, as I’d be putting Burn straight back in, but more a point that his performance wasn’t as calamitous as I’m reading online.

He was at fault for both goals, so no matter what he did right, pretty hard to overlook that.

I agree with this.

I wasn’t high on the signing.  Nothing from the eye test or stats excited me and he’s been worse than I even expected.  They play different positions but this guy is meant to be the Lascelles/Krafth replacement right? Couldn’t lace their boots on his performances so far.

I'm not sure if he's even as good as Paully D at this point.

Antonio beat himself TBH, he was more interested in getting into fights than playing football. Absolute clogger.

He's just a PL Akinfenwa.  He's there for the ball to be held up and let Bowen, Pacqueta and Kudus/Summerville buzz around him hoping to create something in the aftermath.

If he weighs in with a few goals for himself, fine.  But it's not essential.

Just watched the 2nd goal again, just as poor from Longstaff and Pope IMO

Not Bruno for losing the ball in the first place?

It wasn’t great but not a massive error, and there was plenty of opportunity to stop the goal after that point so didn’t mention him

Everyone will lose the ball in opposition half, more so Bruno who will take more risks. Ball still needs to travel down the other end, with often multiple obstacles to stop a clear shot on goal to happen.

It was in our own half no?

Obviously Bruno is at fault.  Kelly and Joelinton too.

Was it not a header to Bruno who’s back was to the on rushing defender who stole it? Bruno had 0 chance to keep that ball. He wasn’t even standing, was in the air. So either he’s fouled or it’s stolen.

The second goal was a clusterfuck of errors if I remember correctly?  Not planning on re-watching it, as I want it expunged from my memory.  But Bruno tried a stupid round the corner/over the head flick back to goal which then set them free when we had men up the pitch.  We then did our customary backing off, I think Joelinton didn't track his runner, there was ball watching aplenty from defenders and midfielders as Wan Bissaka waltzed into the box.  Then perhaps Pope should have got his angles better and/or gone with his usual big boot clearance.  Although it was post and in, so perhaps a touch harsh.
