ponsaelius Posted Sunday at 17:13 Share Posted Sunday at 17:13 (edited) He is pretty average. But average CB basically costs you about £15 million now. Everton got 10 for Ben Godfey in the summer. Italian sporting directors love signing random short termist shite that they'll end up needing to punt in a years time. Lush Vlad Posted Sunday at 17:13 Share Posted Sunday at 17:13 So we’ve heard €12m and we want €18-20m. But now we’re back to 30?

Whether the fee is enough for us to sell or the player goes for it is another thing entirely. Yeah, like I mentioned already clubs in Italy were interested in him as a fee agent. Believe AC Milan were quite interested as well if I remember correctly.

No, clubs over there have been getting good value from the Premier League with players that are too easily disregarded and rubbished. I remember Smalling being laughed out of the Premier League for being error prone. But Roma got a hold of him and got a lot more out of him and he was one of their best centre backs. I would think there's a lot less crosses going in the air, and the forwards won't be as physical. Kelly looks like a decent defender on the floor so could see him doing really well over there. I'm still in the camp that Lloyd Kelly is a decent player. I'd still sell him for the right money, because in all practicality we have to, but he's a much better player than he's down here. Think they're better at coaching and getting more out of players. They seem to still be going strong in the European competitions every year. Atalanta took the Europa League with Lookman as their star player, and he has come on massively since leaving the Prem where he passed through the likes of Everton and Fulham, where he was no doubt being called shit regularly by fans every week. I assume Kelly is a decent player as well, mainly because Howe obviously rates him, and so do Bournemouth fans who have seen him a lot more than us. But yes, at the right price we should sell, it was a good deal to get him on a free.

One saying he's good enough to play for England. I definitely think we're jumping to conclusions too quickly on him and he's probably a quality player given time, but if it's genuinely a €30m bid (£25m I think?) then it's a no-brainer. Money for nothing.

JUICE690 Posted Sunday at 17:43 Share Posted Sunday at 17:43 I mean, we don't want to sell anyone. But clearly we have to sell. It isn't nice to watch fans get all fervent over selling young players because of rules but that's where we are.

STM Posted Sunday at 18:05 Share Posted Sunday at 18:05 I must say, if there's an opportunity to sell Kelly and get someone at RW or even up front, we have to take it. Adding to our forward line will go someway into guaranteeing CL footy next year. I suppose the issue is entirely who we sign and whether they are a long term target. As we all know that we certainly won't panic buy.
