Trippier Lascelles Burn Tino

Subs: Gillespie, Hall, Rashford, Grealish, Maddison, Vardy.

That team would push Denmark all the way, especially with Eddie in the dugout.

Quite noticeable that Southgate doesn’t spend much time on the sideline as well. I think that shows he gives his message then allows the players to follow through without much of his input during the game.

Stark difference to watching Eddie and Mad Dog each week.

But but ....... he's great at interviews and he's really really gelled the team into a happy camp.  And been so successful (according to some).  Being a success is WINNING something.

Kane not having pace is hardly a new development. He's been brilliant for Bayern

Your legs going is more than just losing your pace. It’s also fluidity of movement slowly getting that bit stiffer. Trust me I know 😆

Didn’t look much in the games that mattered last season and anything but brilliant. Appreciate he scored a lot of goals but where they not in the main in the early to mid part of the season.

Like I say will be interested how his next 12 months goes. Feel like Casimiro he was great at the start and middle of the season but not long after the cup win against us the legs went.

Scored 15 goals since January in the league and scored against Arsenal and Real Madrid in the Champions League

He's an exceptional striker, I feel this is another one of your knee jerk posts based on a game or two

Ivesaiditbeforeandillsayitagain. Declan Rice is not as good as he’s cracked up to be. And his best role is box to box rather than DM.

The team as a whole looks a bit ponderous. We don’t seem to be able to counter attack.

We’re missing a few players so it’s not all Southgate’s fault. But Trent in midfield just looks like a failed experiment.

All the very best teams have a conductor in the middle of the pitch. Rice is not good enough to do that

If only we had the best midfielder in Europe for him to play alongside, which would allow one of the best number 10's in Europe to play in his best position to allow the most in form left forward in the EPL to play

Southgate probably happy with that. Only needs a draw against Slovenia to go through to the play-offs. Boring safety first "cup specialist" cunt. Hope to god Jimmy boy still has his heart set on him for Man Utd. Zero inspiration, boring tactics but just about good enough with the quality of players available to stay in the job long enough to make more permanent damage to them.

Pizza Hut must be calling his agent as we speak.

He stayed one tournament too long. Should have ended there and left a good legacy. Now it's in tatters.

So Eddie hasn't been a success? After all he's won nothing.

They were both penalties 🙂 Other that he didn’t threaten much IMO. So 21 v 15 which is signs of a decline but agree it’s marginal though barring penalties had a quiet last few months. Will have to agree to disagree but I don’t think Spurs would get £100m this window so think they sold at the right time. If you think that’s knee jerk then fair enough.

Id be disappointed if we chucked £100m at him this window.

I'm not English so I quite enjoy their failings but the way I see it there's no one in the team including Bellingham who is going to dictate a game like the truly best nations have. Obviously there's more than one way to do things though a conductor is missing imho

Bellinghams not a conductor type player.  We lack a midfield passer (that’s actually a midfielder)

England could put out a team that could out pass all but one or two sides in the competition.

A team with a spine of Rice, Stones, Bellingham and Foden, with two fullbacks and a striker who are all good on the ball should be establishing a rhythm and controlling games.

All the pieces of the puzzle are there. Just needs a sensible selection and tactics. Back in 2012,2014,2016,2018 yes you could say England just don’t have the quality, but thats just not true anymore.

People always massively overreact to performances in the group stage matches of these tournaments, especially the 24-team ones that we have now. Four points in the group is really the equivalent of six in a 32 or 16 team format. England have a simple path to win the group on the last match day, talent and room for group. This is all you would hope for in a tournament.

This isn't true. We'd like our nation to play better than for just 25 mins out of 180 mins

Bellingham can do a good enough job moving the ball and driving forward from deeper positions too.

Don't think they need some Rodri type player in there. It's not the only way to play football.

Bellingham was the one that threaded through that excellent ball to Watkins from deep.

Think it makes more sense having him alongside Rice like most have said, and I think I now agree with them.
