So does he come in as Popes understudy initially then?

I think Pope stays even if he’s number 2, seems he’s very happy here and I’m sure at his age (33) he would want a bit of stability in his life. He’s sadly not going to get back in the England squad.

Can only see him leaving if a strong offer comes in, they’ll not sell him on the cheap, I.e less than £10m.

Popey and Trafford going forward would be a great 2 to have. Hope that’s how it turns out.

How can we be sure what Nick Pope is referring to?

Perhaps they arranged a day out at the zoo together when Trafford gets back?

That makes it even worse if he's shagging animals.

Him leaving to get game time isn't what was weird and I think everyone knows that like.

Can you elaborate? Because plenty of players have gone from Newcastle to Man U and vice versa. I doubt the Man U fans were up in arms at Nicky Butt for daring to come and play for us.

Unless you mean the cardinal sin of a player expressing excitement to come and play for his new club, which literally every new signing has done for every new club ever.

I love how wrong this is.

Don't hate him, just thought it was weird at the time.

Wasn't because of his comments, it was mainly because of the way he went all in with Man United despite only being on loan - posting himself watching them that night, in a Man United top ffs

I don't want him to suck me off, I'd prefer it if he left.

Two wrongs don't make a right? nnnmmmactually I think you'll find that if you live by the sword you die by the sword.

Again, literally every signing made in the history of time has expressed happiness (real or not) to play for their new club. This is nothing new [emoji38]

I still think Popes injury was not right when he come back. Seemed reluctant to dive in that shoulder so maybe he knows he would fail a medical if if he was looking to leave.

Either way time waits for no man.. be it Pope in goal or Wilson at CF.

Players have to be prepared for a sudden replacement if we are to achieve our top 4 hopes year in year out

Nicky Butt didn’t spit his dummy out and go on loan.  Dubravka decided Man Utd’s bench appealed more than ours for a bit - a decision that may be a reason why he has two LC medals but we’ve only won one.

New non update klaxon 🥱 all parties agree the move “should be completed” wtf does that mean

Usually means just need to agree minor details on the add ons or the payment structure, if there's any truth to that.

End of the day Pope has had the chance to play Champions League, two cup finals and win a trophy as a starting player.

Almost no goalkeepers will get to that career height, so if he is accepting of his own physical decline he may not particularly be motivated to up sticks even if he is second choice.

You're making the point here really, it wasn't his new club, he was a Newcastle player who spat his dummy out, and went on loan to a rival with no obligation to buy, and then immediately started acting like he was a full on Man United player and fan. It was a weird way to go on at the time for a player who was probably coming back.

Distribution aside, I think Pope is class.

Apart from bedding in a long term replacement, what attributes does Trafford have to his game that will elevate the team?

Based on my very limited knowledge, better on the ball than Pope by a significant degree and a better shot stopper.
