Paul Mitchell to leave club by mutual consent at end of June (Official)

Front my point of view this is only bad news. But no one knows what's actually happening so I won't get to concerned about it.  Just hope he doesn't take Bunce with him and he gets replaced quickly.

Do we really need a direct replacement ? Howe has a vision for the club, do we not just need admin to carry that out ?

Probably not in the short term, but in the long term I would say so. I've just jokingly said give the job to Staveley but maybe that's not the worst idea.

Christ some people are overreacting - but then I'd expect nothing less :D

The way people are going on its as if we're losing a person responsible for signing some of the greatest players in the world and being super integral to our success.

As I say I don't know the details of what he's done behind the scenes, but he can only be judged on (from us) what we've seen re: the players brought in (big bad Vlach, John Ruddy take a bow), and arguably Bunce (to which who knows whether it was planned too?).

People need to chill :D

Is it good to have all the eggs in one basket, meaning transfers and manager,

Why not ? We need a financial controller but not two people pulling in different directions.

Just employ someone leaving Man Utd, they'll look at us like a Utopia.

That’s good point, but we really need good, long term set-up and continuity. Obviously we are not the only one and not even close to being worst in the league but I think everyone wants committed staff.

My God man. This club [emoji38]

Kind of glad this has happened tbh. Most people were against Mitchell from the outset with how things transpired, and even up till now were having a go at the guy.

Think he made the smart move to leave, especially with Eales now having to step down, who was the one that brought him in.

They should just make Nickson DOF at this point so there is continuity, and he is also comfortable working with Howe.

Just hope Mitchell doesn't come back in for Bunce if he goes elsewhere, as he was a great acquisition.

Long term not sure this is ideal, but while Eddie was s manager, it's likely for the best, as he isn't comfortable working with a recruitment focused DOF.

Going to be very interesting to see how recruitment goes. At least now it will all be down to what Howe is comfortable with and there'll be no more blaming Mitchell for everything.

All for the best I think.

Wasn't there a report a few weeks back that we where looking at appointing a Technical Director? It does make me wonder if this was in the pipeline for a little while, and they've just waited until the end of the season to confirm it, as to not cause some mid-season rumbles.
