How was this guy an athlete? He has the grace of Theresa May.

Is he still blamed a lot for the missed penalty in 96?

Absolute snorefest

There’s still a good chance England make the final of this competition and Southgate’s apologists once again fail to acknowledge that this is an unbelievably talented group of players blessed with the kindest of draws possible

Just wish a PL club would be daft enough to make the glakey get a job offer

This point would have a bit more weight to it if the people saying hadn't been saying it since 2018. and it's not acknowledged because it's always been absolute horse shit and only very recently (solely because of Bellingham and Foden getting older) come into the realms of plausibility.

And it's more strawmanning from you I'm afraid, Southgate's been  universally criticised this tournament, and noone has tried to claim we haven't had a kind draw this time.

Neglecting half the pitch is just pure weird, Saka is doing well but there would be so much more room if you had any threat on the left too.

On a different note - I watched a thing on YouTube last night about a SAS soldier nicknamed “Obi Wan Naurobi” - on how he pretty much on his own saved 700+ hostages, amazing

I’m sat listening to Michael Bridges talking absolute shite tbf.  Perhaps it is different on BBC / ITV

The streets won't forget his performance for Newcastle against Valerenga in 2003.

2018, 2020, and 2022 had unbelievably kind draws too.  One win vs a top ten ranked country (Denmark).  I would’ve backed pretty much every previous England manager to have done exactly the same

Pack it in with this nonce patter man triggs

What do you mean?

They beat Italy 2-0 a few days ago and have got to the knockout stages of the last 6 tournaments. This is a decent performance by England so far

This game is just the second of the last 69 knockout round matches at the UEFA European Championships (since the semi-finals in 1996) to have seen no shots on target in the first half, along with Croatia vs Portugal in 2016.

Would be impressive if this was ‘90s Italy

He's been talking to Pards too much.  We have plenty of fret on the left, he mistook Pards accent for Threat

Pundits on BBC seem happy enough with the performance.

Just need a chance to land to Kane.
