Will Osula: Goal vs Man United nominated for PL Goal of the Season

Recommended Posts

Hard to really sum up Osula. He isn’t great in aerial duels, he can’t really hold the ball up but he does try but he’s very good at playing off the shoulder and running in behind. He’s also pretty good at getting himself a yard to get a decent shot off. He’s come on a lot this season

He did nought other than his goal - let's not get over ourselves

That's not true like, he held the ball up quite well, fought for everything, linked up play and pressed non-stop all game, often alone.

He's by far our best forward option at the moment.

He tries and runs his heart out but despite his goals last 2 games, as was seen away at Leeds in August, he’s not good enough to lead the line. Him starting there is a result of the manager throwing mud imo.

Guy has been close to leaving for the past few windows due to not getting a look in. All of a sudden he’s our main striker and the other lads can’t get a game.

Pretty much the only bright spot around NUFC at the moment. Even if he doesn’t end up playing for us the next few seasons he’s slowly but surely adding a nice premium on his transfer fee.

Can’t fathom why it’s seemingly impossible for us to play 4-2-3-1 with Wolte behind him. Or just a plain old 4-4-1-1.

Doesn't look like it.  Nick has no Premier League goals in 2026.  Whereas Osula has two just in the last week.

Obviously Will is looking better in training to get into the starting 11 at the moment two, and he's getting the goals on the pitch.

Only bright note from today.

Thought Tonali looked really good today as well tbf. Another bright note from a pretty grim day.

His defending or rather lack of it for their winner was shocking

Throw your body infront of it or just stick out a leg, he went for the latter

He has terrible defensive instincts outside of transition moments.

He just jogs past Truffert in the first instance and ends up almost off the pitch just standing there watching the cross and never thinks to look at what is going on behind him and picking up the free man.

That's 4 Premier League goals now from 455 mins of action, so pretty much 5 full games mins wise.

This is in a team currently having a crisis as far as the wingers are concerned and where the midfield has pretty much been non existent with Bruno out, and so no quality chances are being created. He's comfortably outperforming his expected goals.

Somehow he's finding a way to score goals. Be interesting to see if this continues till the end of the season. Ideally he'd be second/rotation option to a more experienced leading striker, but who knows what will happen.

Worst case scenario his current play will be adding more to his fee at least, should he end up leaving, and if he does I think this guy is going to end up a good striker down the line.

Osula has apparently been contacted by the Nigerian FA as he hasn't had his debut for Denmark yet. As a Dane I hope he tells them to fuck off. He grew up in Copenhagen and he'll get his chances for Denmark eventually.

We Danes learn from childhood not to reply when Nigerians contact you with an offer so there's a chance Big Will Osula just though their approach was a scam.

I really want to see Wolt and Osula in combination for a bit. Osula has the pace and pressing aggression Wolt doesn't, likewise Wolt has the quick thinking and backheels to create a pass that could set him on his way.

I'm quite impressed with him and would be a bit disappointed if we gave up on him this summer.

Playing for Denmark is the scam. I'm sure Osula would have learnt in his childhood that this is what your lot think of his father's people, and so hopefully he makes the smart choice, and saves himself further humiliation once things don't go right and the emojis start flooding his inbox.

The number of top level goals Nick has outside of 2025 is spooky

Absolutely, I do quite like him though.

Just not sure he's physically going to adapt to this league, hope so. The way he is so easily dispossessed which subsequently leads to opposition counters are, I think, part of reason why we haven't seen him so much.
