Be an honour to see him rip it up for Brighton after we flog him next June to sort out our FFP issues again.

We won't have ffp issues next summer if we ain't signing anyone this one

Oh we will, because we're still paying for every single player we've amortised since the takeover.

That's how this works, which nobody seemed willing or able to grasp at the time - Bruno might have "only" cost £8m the year we signed him, but he'll continue to cost us £8m every year until 2027. Same for everyone else we've signed.

Everyone understands it, except maybe you! 😀

Bruno signed a new contract that goes until 2028, that reduces the annual amortisation to more like 5.5m per year. Extending other players like Joelinton also reduces their amortisation per year, meaning the amortisation bill, absent new signings, will come down significantly.

But the original poster probably also understands allowable losses work on a 3 year rolling period and so there’s also much greater scope for losses this year.

& apologies to everyone for not sticking to the FFP thread

I don’t understand it either. Cloughy would have punched the FA by now and got it sorted.

Can see being in and around the first team and featuring with them during pre season has given him even more motivation.

So important to give youngsters that are doing well those kinds of opportunities.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just reading co.uk's international round up and saw the above match was a 1-1 draw and went to penalties which ended in.. a 5-5 draw? What the hell is the point in that?

Even the official highlights mentions penalties in the title then proceeds to not show a single one of them.

Miley got games at 17, will Sanusi get a few games? Has Howe said anything about him?

Miley’s an absolute elite talent for his age. I think we underestimate how much.

Miley got games cause of a serious injury crisis - unless we get a lot of injuries to our wingers.. I'd be shocked if Sanusi is involved in the first team even though he looks very promising.

Aye, Sanusi might get some minutes in cup games if we're winning by a good margin, but that'll be about it unless we're having a very ropey season again.

He said in an interview that Howe had set him a target to physically develop this season to compete against men, so that'll be his main focus.

Think if he’s output in youth team reaches a level where he’s not tested as much, a loan in new year may be needed. Even if it’s L1, get facing against some experienced pros. Because it then helps shape what needs further developing.
