agree with this. If Howe can do to him what he's done to Gordon and Murphy he'll be incredible here. My only issue would be that if the club are insisting on signing these players (Elanga, Mbuemo, Guehi) from league rivals then I really can't be chewed to listen to them twist about PSR.

Exactly how I feel. Sick to the back teeth  of hearing about PSR and then we don't seem to do ourselves any favours by recruiting within the worst value market. There seems to even be minimal media links from players abroad.

It’s not the player I have an issue with it’s the difficult deal this would inevitably be. Very high price and likely to drag on into August

If some of the Journos are to be believed, aye.  But you're right though, none of us really know for sure.

But if the internet is to be believed Elanga is on pretty low wages. If we pay £50m for him I'd imagine he ends up in that £100-120k/wk range we like. Mbeumo apparently wanted north of £200k. You're talking about an £8-10m difference per year between the fee and wages, which is a whole other player.

What’s the alternative?

£40m would be a bargain man, are yous mad  You pay for proven players, whether you like him or don't that's what he is. And he's 23.

Upwards of £50m for Elanga?

Come on, that is mad.

Really hope this isn't going to be done, feels completely uninspiring and a bit like not looking further than the front of your nose.

£40m would be insane

Surely our scouts can find someone better in Europe, for cheaper.

£40m seems more than fair for a young player with his numbers

I would be okay with it, if we got him for less than £40m and we got a £50m+ creative CM aswell.

But we badly need someone who can open up a low block, and this guy aint it.

I’m well up for Elanga. I think he’d be a perfect fit for us. £50m seems about £10-15m too high but you’re not getting value for money in the Premier League.

I think Man U are getting good value for money with Cunha and Mbeumo at just over 60m each

Both far better footballers than Elanga for not a lot more money.

That's not taking wages into account I'll admit though

Why is it insane though?

He's 23 and has 18 goal contributions this season.

He's more proven than Gordon who we paid more for.
