Yeah I said similar earlier. He can't read a game of football. Most good footballers don't need that much coaching to spot danger, when to cover, come wide, come deep etc. He basically can run fast.

Just feel like his pace isn't being used in behind, and he seems completely incapable of playing actual football.

 

Defenders don't seem bothered by his pace because he's incapable of doing anything with it, can't beat a man and can't cross.

Semenyo would have been a much better fit.. Elanga could come good yet but today was such a great opportunity for him and he fluffed it massively..Murphy will be back to #1 RW

He only works in a deep counter attacking setup with the ball played into open space, as soon as he has the ball at his feet that pace evaporates.

Unfortunately, I think he does somehow stand out like a sore thumb for the most part. In a generally poor team, he genuinely baffles and surprises me with how terrible he is. It's not even just the stray passes and lack of forward intent, it's even the way he looks on the ball, it's all so awkward and weird, he legitimately looks like he belongs nowhere near this level of football.

I find it more annoying that we spent a year chasing him when his limitations should have been obvious to anyone who watched him regularly. Not really sure what Howe was seeing tbh.
