Would anyone do a straight swap with Paqueta at West Ham? Reunite with Nuno and we get Bruno’s mate

they don’t have anyone else decent except Bowen but he’s mr West Ham so can’t see him going

It could have been so different had he scored that one on one against Villa on his debut

He also made some good crosses we just had an Isak whole up top.

If he had been a Mitchell signing I reckon Eddie would have him half out the door already.

The issue is that he is an Eddie signing and there’s no getting around that whatever way this plays out that doesn’t involve him turning everything around spectacularly, it just reflects badly on the manager so he won’t be sold anytime soon and he will persevere with him, it’s as much of a face saving exercise than doing the right thing for the player. Clear as day it’s the wrong move for him.

Agreed, perhaps we could chase him out with pitchforks and torches?

Best thing we could do right now is loan with an obligation to buy. He’s not going to contribute to our season in any meaningful way.

I'd much rather we gave minutes to one of the young players rather than his pointless cameos.

What do you do with yourself between wins?

I was in a pub watching it, and a couple of us older lads immediately started talking about Jon Dahl Tomasson’s miss in the opening mins of the first match of the season and what that seemed to do to him

Boils my piss that Man U can sign a boatload of flops and never be constrained in the next transfer window.

Meanwhile we miss once and it'll probably set us back years

Boils my piss when people trot out this piss. Aye we've not been set back at all.

You've also not "missed once." You've spent £260m in the summer (more than us) and the only one who looks worth it so far is Thiaw.

How many shit signings for mega bucks has Man Utd made?  And how many will they be able to make this summer?

There is a reason that the debt-leveraging cunts who own the club consistently pushed for the rule changes that were brought in.  The rules allow the likes of Man Utd to make a great many more mistakes than the other 14 clubs.  It’s disingenuous to even suggest otherwise.

Aye, but we sold Isak for £130m in the summer. Double what we paid for him and set a new PL transfer record.

When’s the last time your lot sold a player and made a sizeable profit versus their purchase price ?

Yet you can still spend megabucks on players who flop, time and time again.

Man Utd’s incoming transfers are like doing your weekly trolley shop at Harrods.

Man Utd’s outgoing transfers are like the yellow sticker whoopsie aisle in Costcutter.

That's not the point being made. We're a massive club, and people need to come to terms with that in terms of spending. If you weren't owned by a state you'd love the rules.

To say we haven't been set back is fucking stupid though when we literally finished 15th last year. We've had multiple desperation loans over the years because we couldn't afford anybody decent (Ighalo, Sabitzer, Weghorst etc.).

I wouldn’t love the rules - it prevents outside investment from anyone.  I don’t think PIF would chuck billions at the club for what it’s worth.

Are yours any better or are we only allowed to look at the summer? If you take Isak out your record sale is probably Andy Carroll which was 15 years ago.

I'd say Anderson and Minteh are probably next and they were poor decisions.

I think they would.

Not sure people would have the same opinion on PSR if a state bought us.

We were shopping in the yellow sticker whoopsie aisle for a decade until 2021. Hard to make a profit on that.

And since then we’ve had to build a squad of top flight footballers whilst under snide PSR rules, so flipping loads of players wasn’t going to be in our short term plan.

And you think selling Garnacho for £40m and making losses on Antony and all the other big bucks shite justifies your £200m spend last window, right after Ten Hag spent £200m on shite in his last window ?

Surely that would make it easier to make profit?

You've spent £700m under Howe. That shoestring PSR budget.

I think our spend is fairly modest when you factor in the sales and all the clauses from the likes of Sancho/Elanga etc. (thanks). That's not factoring in the loan fees and obligations to buy for players like Rashford and Hojlund either.

We might need to start getting the stats out here Bobby.

Anyone else spot when Tripp's came on, camera shows him going to Elanga. From my basic lip reading skills, it was Tripp's shouting at him and telling him to just pass him the fucking ball. From memory Tripps came on basically as soon as Elanga gave the ball away yet again just inside our own half. All the play down the right side for that 10mins went through Trippier.

If he carries on playing like he does, he won't stay, and think he'll just be loaned off. Lad needs to improve big time on some of the basics in being a PL winger. Howe will lose trust in a winger that loses the ball as much as he does, and offer no numbers going forward.

Sancho - bought for £80M, loaned out season after season, will most likely leave on a free

Hojlund - bought for £72M, loaned out with an option to buy for £40M

Onana - bought for £50M, loaned out with no chance of even recovering 20%

Antony - bought for £80M, sold for £25M with 50% sell on

Pogba, bought for £80M, released on a free

Theres far more examples but I genuinely can't be arsed

You can keep saying Howe has spent £700M - we were fighting relegation when he took over and have received £300M in sales since - but that doesn't fit the narrative does it?

£400M for a team fighting relegation thats challenging for Europe is a very good turn on investment

Mason Mount £70m

Fred £60m

Van de Beek £40

Pogba was £100m as well.
