Crystal Palace 1-1 Newcastle - 30/11/24

Recommended Posts

Can’t score a goal, and the striker we bought in the summer can’t get a game.

Fuck off man, if things aren’t working, then give him a chance, better than nothing.

I’m fucking sick of singing a player, and having to wait until he’s withdrawing his pension to fucking start playing him.

Gordon can’t get into a game where the other team isn’t trying to sit back, he can’t do it. Fucking pathetic. We haven’t look quality in any match this season. It’s either been played shit, and got a lucky win, or did alright, but missed a fuck load of chances.

We have nothing about us anymore, no identity about our play, nothing.

Getting a bit dodgy now. We've spent a shit load of money, have some class players and we're not looking like we're going anywhere. Getting results like the west ham on Monday and forest at home nearly a year ago is unacceptable.

9 corners without a shot on target is some going.

.

Even more so when you’ve got Joelinton / Burn who are tall powerful guys, then Schar / Isak (or Wilson) and Tonali who are useful for their height, it’s even worse.

We just have piss all about us at corners, it’s just Sunday league stuff. Twat it in and hope.

Happy with that point tbh, undeserved.

I am not sure 'happy' right word - it was a shocking performance against a bottom three side - not one shot on target.  The worrying part is Eddie can't seem to see it - bar the 1st 15 mins against West Ham were were awful but you wouldn't know it from Eddies comments.

I only caught the last 10min, so I was raging as I had no idea how abject our performance was. Reading the forum has been rage relieving, think I just unlocked a forum hack. [emoji38]

Absolutely embarrassing lack of fret. Desperately need to sort this out because it's becoming regular.

May want to reason the last few pages. There was plenty of fret! 😄

An embarrassing lack of threat however...

Two poor teams , draw was fair but still feels like a defeat.

I am more upset about the performances as opposed to the results - we have been awful against two poor sides.  And it's really depressing - I just want to watch good football, want to see us have a go.  I am sick of us sitting back against poor sides holding onto a goal. We should be better than that.

The reverting to the style of 2 years ago looks like being a short term panacea, doesn't feel like they've evolved from intensity is our identity mantra. Recruitment looks poor in hindsight with a lack of natural options on the right as opposed to the left, there's 2 natural deeper lying midfielders in Tonali and Bruno who could be the best tandem in the league but nobody to play in front of them. Had Madison been signed instead of Barnes it could've been transformative and that's said as a fan of Barnes. Peak Trippier is a massive miss as well, feels like things started to go south along with his form last season.

Fully convinced and have grown more so with every game that this is the epitome of a midtable season.

Just different degrees of averageness every week - play well lose, play okay win, play badly draw, play well one week bad the next - might be a handful of occasions where we hook it up and both play well and win this season.

Hugely frustrating as we’d managed the game really well after the goal. Just really sloppy play from Joelinton.

This wasn't Liverpool we were playing - we shouldn't have to manage a game against a team that has barely scored a goal all season.  We should have gone for the jugular after the 1st goal and finished them off - instead we just sat back.

Yeah. What a ridiculously reductive view. If we drew in an even game and there was a response from Monday. The reaction would be totally different.

As it is. We’ve scored from one shot all game, none on target and we were atrocious for pretty much the whole game.

I wonder why people are fucked off. It’s not like a one off after loads of impressive, high scoring performances is it?

See, when we play badly and win or draw, it's about the performance. When we play well and lose, it's about the result.

That was a poor performance and a decent result, so naturally we're all going to talk about the performance rather than the result.

We have 0 creativity when teams sit back and defend deep. We have pace on the counter and that's it.

The players also seem to lack motivation unless it's a big game.

I agree - but what is worse Palace weren't sitting back they were after a goal.  We were the ones who sat back - you could just see they were going to score one of their chances.
