It'd be nice just to see a spirited performance.

It's been a few weeks.

Rather than a performance that looks like they've been on the spirits

If Isak is fit then I think he needs to stick with the same starting XI again to try and get some continuity going. It's a side well suited to counters which is what we'll likely play.

Gordon has been doing my nut in for the last 2 games but if there's a game he's going to perform in then it's this one - I fancy him against Robertson as well. If it's another no-show then drop him on the weekend.

Hopefully, Joe & Jo have proper boots on. If they're on form then they could really help to lock down their right.

still not fully over this fixture last season

we had them where we wanted them and they were there for the taking

Miggy hitting the woodwork twice was so unlucky, including Alisson save of the season

needed that second goal to kill them

probably never have as good an opportunity to smash them and now feels like they could smash us 😑

Think just avoiding getting massacred is a good result. Would be happy with 0-2.

Don't think we're ever going to be competing with Liverpool year after year tbh. The rules holding us back are not going away.

Oddly enough, this is just about the perfect time to play them. They are smashing everyone, no one is going to expect us to get anything, no pressure on the players. They should relish the opportunity to make the critics eat their words.

But Isak seems the only one who can score goals against them so unless Howe is ready to unleash Wilson, the lads might not fancy it as much as they could do.

The frustrating thing is if we were something resembling our previous form we could very realistically be 2nd and this would be the biggest league game we’ve played in a very, very long time.

Last time we beat Liverpool was in early December following an insipid showing at Selhurst Park and everyone thought we were gonna get battered. :bluestar:

But nah seriously a 2007-esque 0-3 incoming.

Fucking hell lads, Southampton gave them a decent game last week.

They’re hardly 1970 Brazil away from home.

They won't need to be though. We're weak as piss at the minute. We'll be steamrolled on Wednesday. An early goal and we might just capitulate. Our attitude/mentality is all wrong at present. Conceding that last minute goal yesterday will be so damaging. Please God I'm wrong but I've seen it a hundred times.

Want to be optimistic, but their pace up top will just destroy our CBs. Coupled with the one twos around our flat midfield, it’s going to be tough.

Only success relies on them being off it with finishing and final ball, and us being clinical. Which none of this season points too.

Lost one game in the last 5 and we’re ‘weak as piss’ and the ‘mentality is all wrong’. Incredible.

Christ knows what Man City’s mentality must be.

I know we’re strong second favourites on Wednesday, I fully understand anyone that thinks we’ll get beat, but the whole attitude of we might as well not turn up, it’s going to an annihilation, is just ridiculous.

No one in the Liverpool team scares me bare Salah tbh,Its our performances that are the problem and i truly think we need to change formation as the 4-3-3 has been worked out i'd even bring back miggy or murphy to give us the energy we lack

No but there’s plenty in our team that scare me at the minute
