I thought he was a poor choice for captain when it was announced. Too much of a hot head but then I am not privy to the dressing room dynamics.

I was sceptical too. But I guess mostly because Lascelles and Tripps were such great captains.

We should obviously be at least 3 up here and the fact we aren't is hardly Bruno's fault.  it's far too many missed chances.  I do agree Bruno isn't right for captain though.

Murphy with one of the funniest celebrations I've ever seen there mind. Absolute dog dirt (again), scores, gives it the big 'un.

one of the most likeable personalities in the squad imo

Yes, good defensively and also linking up play with Gordon. Offers much more going forward than Burn at LB.

Yes, he and Gordon looked good together on attack.

Played really well by and large. Passing is a lot crisper, seem to be attacking with some intent and speed, moving them about all over the pitch.

But it’s still only 1-0, they came back into it a bit, we’re seeing some brainless stuff from some of our players.

It should be more than 1 and all. They look awful and have their midfield missing. We’ve had some great chances and openings. But pretty wasteful as per usual.

Reading this back it sounds like our usual then? Tons of chances missed, then the slightly lesser seen, still put one away.

only really one chance missed which was Isak through one on one with the keeper (again).

What I'm probably most encouraged by is how up for it the players look against a weaker side. Snapping into everything. What I want to see every game tbh, not letting teams breathe

Newcastle missed two clear cut chances. Murphy goal was a really good finish tbf although one of the missed chances was his also.
