Who are you asking?

Most football fans overrate their players massively, and Man United and Newcastle fans are among the worst for it.

Wait til I tell about these fans who think they’ve got a plethora of generational talents but get beat off the likes of Stoke…

I know. 6 £40m+ players in that line up with another 2 on the bench and 2 Youth Cup winning stars. It’s not a shit line up by any stretch.

I don't think ability is in question for most of them. Just horribly out of form and trying to deal with adjusting to a completely different formation.

Onana

Yoro

De Ligt

Martinez

Mazraoui

Casemiro

Mainoo

Dalot

Amad

Garnacho

Hojlund

Eriksen might start instead of Garnacho or if Mainoo is injured. Maguire might play over Yoro which I'd see as a mistake as Mazraoui will need Yoro's pace to deal with Gordon.

And holy fuck, there is a possibility Antony gets a start at RWB, because of his pace and defensive workrate. In this case Mazraoui would move to RCB.

Wing-backs aside (not poor by any means, just a bit meh) that’s not a bad line-up at all. Suppose it depends if Casemiro still looks washed or not.

Wing backs are a massive issue. Dalot isn't good on the left. I'd be targeting him like crazy if I were Howe.

Wary of this fixture with the narrative as it is. At the risk of exposing myself as lonely perv wanking in my parents spare bedroom; the xG and xGC for Manure over the last 4 is no where near as bad as their results have been. A decent spell on the training ground as well.

Still think we have enough; particularly if Gordon and Murphy can push the wing backs deep our midfield will crush Casemiro and Mainoo.

Just Stuck 50 on man u at 7/4

All the over confidence of the fans will get chucked back into our faces as usual

These have been shite by their standards for years. Yet they've still won trophies. Managed to take the piss out of us at Wembley on the pitch and in the stands, then just last season pip us for Europe and take the piss again.

All this bluster I've seen on twitter has done my head in. Just shut the fuck up and say nowt we've won once in the league there in about 40 years

Everyone, yourself included. :)

If you're asking me on form, I'd struggle to put any of our players in. Not that I think we've been terrible since Amorim came in (results aside), but you've been in scintillating form lately.

In terms of ability it's different IMO, but that's where opinions are going to differ massively.

Amad over Murphy.

When available Bruno F over Joelinton but that only on talent. Eddie wouldn't pick him because he's a cunt.

I really like that Butcher midget lad they have in defence, but he's been shite for ages now and I'm not sure he will get it back.

Mainoo is class but one for the future.

The rest can get in the bin.

I think we have half a dozen players performing at their absolute maximum level, and whom have been for a fairly decent amount of time except for the odd blip.

You would realistically expect all Man United's first 11 to be in contention to make a combined first 11 historically. I think Isak, Tonali and Bruno are probably the 3 that would buck that trend if all 22 were on form.

As you say though, Amad aside I don't really see many (based on current form) ousting Newcastle's lot which is a testament to Eddie Howe.

Their midfield looks fucked with key players missing, they’ve made an ‘interesting’ managerial appointment, and they’ve been effectively taken over by a complete bollock-brain who’s arrogance is only matched by his ignorance.

I’m going for a 4-1 win to us.  Was tempted to crank our number up, but won’t.  We’ll fucking well beat these.  HTL.

I just have a nervousness about this fixture even though we are a much better team than them and in much better form

A large part of this is probably because in the family whatsapp group my nephew has been mocking my Man U supporting uncle and it just feels inevitable he will have the last laugh

I’m on the same page, maybe it’s just NUFC PTSD

A win against Newcastle at home isn't something to be gloating about either mind.

We have various issues at the minute and that isn't going to change with three points at home against a wee club in the North East.

Man Utd are absolutely shit but this morning I would begrudgingly accept a point because I'd expect them to be well up for the fixture and a defeat would potentially burst the 'corner turned' balloon. Really looking forward to it.
