Yorkie
Re Sandro's effort off the post; I know it was perhaps a little fortunate the way the ball bounced off Gordon and fell for Tonali, but fucking hell, what a goal that would've been. We're amazing to watch when all our starboys are cooking and linking up. Isak; absolutely hilarious how he's capable of striking the ball with such unnecessary violence, as demonstrated by that disallowed goal, yet chooses to finish one-on-ones in the way he does. Just put it in (/through) the net!

He could have had an arm round and said sorry, it’s tactical, I need to get another midfielder on and you’re the unlucky one. Instead he ignored him and left him to the crowd. Cronky
I think our players tired in the second half, and in the final section of the first. Eddie has played practically the same team for the last few matches, and they looked like they needed a rest. Otherwise it would have been a massacre. Man U were so bad in the first twenty minutes that it was weird. We just cut right through them.
Ben
I'm still not convinced 343 works in the Premier league, we like wingers to much and if you have attacking full backs as well it just leaves you to exposed, I know Sporting twatted Man City earlier in the season but City battered them for the first 30 mins and the match would have been so much different if they had scored. It didn't look to me like the players tired; it looked like they had a structured 90 minute game plan that was planned out and managed through as intended. I think there was a demonstrable evolution and maturity to our previous all-action and high intensity at-all-times approach, where we were/are now able to adapt throughout a game depending on circumstance. I think our struggles and questions over our loss of intensity earlier in the season may have been part of our journey to implementing that evolution, and the past few games we've benefitted from the rewards of successfully executing it. It might not be the most exciting for the fans when it plays out into the latter stages, but there's been a satisfyingly methodical approach to our play in the past few games. You expect it'll be geared largely towards minimising injury and maintaining fitness whilst ensuring the game is won.
nufc4eva
Yeah wonder if we were saving energy given quite a few games coming up and need to keep players fit. The plan was probably to go at them in first half, win the game and then manage it through.

We have conserved energy due to the state of the game. Leicester was over after an hour. Brentford the same and was all but done in the first half. Ipswich after a half. Villa against 10 for an hour. Game over at 2-0. Then last night was similar. Blitzed them first half and got a 2 goal cushion. Then managed it well, bar the odd scare and fuck up. We were the same from 60 mins onwards basically every game since Leicester. Liverpool have been similar and more selective with their gung ho approach under Slot. They have far more control over games this season.

Erikse
There were some discussions about the quality of our team earlier in the season, and I think the latest few games has shown that we do have a pretty good team. Yesterday the difference in quality was obvious to me. In bad times it's easy to forget how good some of these players are when it clicks. It was all about making Tonali and Hall work in the side, and now our team is stronger than last season. We don't have the best depth, but yesterday we had Livramento, Willock and Barnes coming off the bench. Not too bad. Not taking anything away from Howe at all. After all some of these players have gotten much better after signing for us. It's also not just about having quality in the team, you've got to make it work somehow. Easier said than done. Right now it works very well. Even the defending looks rock solid, a pleasant change from last season (although that was partly due to injuries ofcourse). Nucasol
The Sky bias towards six clubs who tried to pull the league’s pants down and piss all over the product is embarrassing. Cancelled my subscription a year ago due to their cheerleading and ignorance around all but these clubs, including trying to drum up transfers for their cash cow clubs. Stockpiling Man Utd and Liverpool ex-players to run all the core parts of their coverage is also grim.

Totally agree, there was a 5 minute period in the second half where we calmed the game and kept the ball for 5 mins and they couldn’t get it off us, proved to me we had another gear if we wanted to use it.
