Kelly actually has a really nice diagonal on him. Saw it a bit in pre-season. The fact he’ll be playing on the wrong side and isn’t anywhere near match sharp, based on his last game. Isn’t really ideal.

The side that he’s playing on notwithstanding, I think it’ll probably help him playing alongside Burn rather than Schar, from an organisational point of view.

Burn is excellent at making sure everyone is correctly positioned and switched on, which, from the admittedly limited, time we’ve seen of Kelly, will probably benefit him.

How's their midfield looking now that Bentancur is out ? My worry is as much fatigue for us.

My only worry is complacency. I was worried about that yesterday, but our opening spell blew them away. Spurs are very leaky, but they are still a dangerous team and they outplayed us at St James despite the result.

Obviously we are a different prospect right now, but they are still scoring goals, so we have to defend well whatever else we do.

A point would normally be a good result, but imagine taking 6 points from away games at Old Trafford and Spurs. It would totally wipe out the shitty results against West Ham and Brentford.

It’s fans that become complacent, Howe won’t allow and guard against it creeping into the players.

You can get defenders switching off, and midfielders tbh. It's not possible to always be at 100%, but we are in a run of great form so long may it continue.

I agree……….however concentration and complacency are different to me.

"If we play with the two full backs miles up the pitch with no cover a'la classic Angeball we are going to get buttfucked - and brutally - as that will give Gordon / Murphy / Barnes tons of space to run in behind at our makeshift centre backs

If we play a bit more conservatively like we *tried* to do last week then we might get something out of the game"

"They are the better coached and organized team with some real class upfront, but maybe we can get a point at home. Certainly not one to look forward to!"

"This match will resemble a big guy having a fight with a really little guy.
The little guy will be swinging away relentlessly, while the big guy stands there, holding the little guy back by his forehead. As soon as the little guy stops swinging, the big guy will knock him out. And someone will say the little guy was unlucky because he swung a lot of punches"

"You just look at them last night and think, that when they're properly at it (which they haven't been for a while before this last month or so), they're built to be everything that kills us. Everything we struggle against. Power in midfield. Snap in the press. Good delivery and strong in the air to compliment it. Transition so quickly.

As it gets closer and close to kick off, my optimism will ramp up to the point of delusion. But now. 4 days out. When my heads the clearest it's going to be.

My prediction?  Pain"

"Newcastle will soundly beat us ffs isak guimereas Gordon and tonali will rip us open our midfield won't compete"

They are confident then [emoji38]

Feels like a bit of a free hit after the last few results but a hell of a chance to get a big three points on the road and a chance to really increase the gap between us and these lot.

A look at our remaining fixtures and there were a lot of winnable home games and a lot of tricky away games on paper so the chance to get six points at Old Trafford and Tottenham due partly to the timing of playing the games and our incredible form will be a big plus. Win this and the majority of the home games that we should and we can afford to lose some of the tricker away games and still have a very positive season!

They’ll always create chances with the players they have but teams just walk through their midfield and the defence is flaky at best, plus they play that mad high line. Isak, Gordon and even Murphy should have a field day against their defence with Bruno playing balls through. Schar out is less that ideal but we should be able to cope with Tonali providing that extra cover now. I’d be happy with a draw but we can definitely win there.

Their last few home games:

Lost 1-2 to ipswich

Drew 1-1 with 10 man Fulham

Conceded 4 against Chelsea

Conceded 6 against Liverpool

Drew with Wolves

Yes we’re missing Schar and a bit fatigued, but they’re missing a massive chunk of their squad through injury and suspension and the fans hate the manager.

If we get stuck into them early like we did at Old Trafford then we’ve got a good chance. All depends on which NUFC turns up.

Any chance Eddie makes some changes for this considering the team has been largely the same recently and we’ve got that cup game coming up?

I think we’ll see Willock replace Joelinton for this one and then in the semi Joelinton come back in and Longstaff replacing Bruno.

Tino may replace Trippier and we’ll see Kelly come in for Schar.

They don’t hate the manager I don’t think? Questions are starting to be asked for sure though.

From the small sample size I've got access to at my gym, it's very 50/50. Some have been sick of Ange for a while, some admire that he does things his own way. I think I'd personally be sick of how stubborn he is, and that dour look he always has. Hands in pockets and head down. Looks totally clueless on the touchline

They've still scored the second most goals in the division so I'd be surprised if our changed back four will be able to keep a clean sheet here. Could be high scoring this one. I'm just hoping our midfield can win their battle and when we get chances we're clinical.

Just bring Kelly in for Schar and leave the rest of the team as it is.

I know we have quite a few fixtures right now but we have the perfect fixture in Bromley to switch out the whole starting 11, that gives the players a 10 day break and a chance to recharge for a really generous group of fixtures to follow.

Our current starting 11 don't like tired at all to me, in fact they look in the best shape they have been all season.

I'd possibly bring Tino in for Trippier, just to deal with Spurs pace but we absolutely not be fucking about with a team who is currently firing on all cylinders.
