Incredibly biased coverage. Didn't even show Gordon missing his sitter

absolutely shocked at how biased it was. Commentator was desperate for us to have had two reds and was basically creaming himself whenever Spurs had the ball within 30 yards of our goal

Kulusevski did nothing wrong.

I’ve watched the Joelinton handball a few more times and I get why it would frustrate the Spurs fans.  We got a very clear advantage from it, I’d be pissed off about it.  The rules are the rules though.  I think they were right to change them so accidental handball in the lead up does not automatically mean no goal.  When this was the rule there were a load of really soft goals not given.

You could argue for the rules to be tweaked to say that an accidental handball that gives a clear advantage to a team leading to a goal should be disallowed.  I think the guy in the studio nailed it though when he said at least the rules are now clear and not open to interpretation.

But why would you want people penalised for something accidental?

IMO there should be almost no handballs in a game of football, it had got silly.

i'd never been before but what an impressive stadium.

no gridlock at the turnstiles.

hardly any queing for food an drink.

Yeah all the handball rules etc are attempts that swing between trying to punish every handball or only punish those actually deliberate ones. The issue with handballs is often the punshment is waaaay over the top compared to the offence. You try and legislate for every handball, welcome to penalties that decide games based on players accidently brushing the ball with their hands in the corner of the box that was not leading up to a goal scoring opportunity. You try and be lenient and goals are scored because it bounced off someone hands, either way people are very angry because their entirely biased opinion of course has swung a match.

Looked much more mental than at the press conference.

Has a touch of the Eddie Jones about him (ex England rugby manager)

Anything goes wrong start arguing with the reports to deflect on their own faults as a manager.

He must have at least did the same interview five times today.. so no need to be an arsehole when it was his choice to try and be clever

fouls dont have to be deliberate.

thought that should have been a pen.

gordon had cut inside him before he got battered.

BDB may have got away with one but he was unlucky. the ball seemed to bounce of his chest onto his arm.

Isn't the handball rule that if it is above the shirt line on the arm it's not handball? It's not been mentioned in connection to the Burn call and it was clearly well above the shirt sleeve.

Anyway my longstanding call is Postecoglu to be gone by March. I'm glad we did out bit today. Angeball is the definition of all fart and no shit.

Thought the coverage was fine. They basically agreed with the decision (which shouldn't even be contentious), mentioned the Gordon non-pen, bigged up our midfield and although they didn't show Gordon’s miss they included it in the post match analysis

Also the clue is in the original name of the rule. Too many handballs given for hitting the arm. Probably should revert to the actual hand.

Remember that second half against PSG. All they did was spent their time kicking against our arms until they got a penalty.

Atmosphere sounded dire - national commentators mentioned as much at half-time - though there's no real frame of reference with it being Spurs.

even after they scored - it wasnt the most mental reaction you'd hear from a home crowd.

the way I look at it is Bergvall is on the stretch and kicks it off Joelinton’s hand. Joelinton and Newcastle cannot be penalised for something that they have no control over. Joelinton does nothing wrong to give away a free kick so the only thing that can happen is play on. That’s unfortunate for Spurs

Took most of the crowd opposite the camera about 5 mins to bother coming out for the second half too.

If we scored our first goal in our next league match against Wolves, absolutely no one would be screaming for it to be ruled out.

We scored it against a Sky 6 club though, so everyone is fucking screaming for it.

Everyone knows it’s not classed as handball, they just want it to be in this case.

Yeah, you'd calm down the second to fourth time around and use different terminology if it was just rage and being a bad loser - just makes him come off worse to add cynicism with a zest of bullshit to it
