In the elation post match I signed up to the True Faith Patreon stuff, just cos I want all the content about this match I can get.  Was listening to the live reaction podcast recorded during the match whilst I was out walking the dogs earlier.... when it got the BDB goal I just started crying again.   Thought I was over that but think I'm gonna be that way for a very long time!!!

What an amazing day yesterday. Really special to celebrate it in Newcastle with such a lovely bunch of folk from here, will never forget it!

 

The performance itself was unbelievable. To get a disallowed goal and come straight back and score takes serious balls. Then Pope's save was monumental. Trippier and Tino stepped up, Joelinton was a destroyer, Isak so clinical. Every man played their part.

 

We made one single mistake and they scored, it just shows how high a level you need to play at, and we did it.

 

Headed up to St James's last night and it was rocking. Great scenes. Not even this hangover can kick the feeling.

6pm here and just about recovered after getting up at noon. Still struggling to believe it. What a performance and the dream scorer in Dan Burn. Beating Liverpool so easily after all our struggles against them of late and without Gordon or Hall.

 

Its a big step forward for the club. It mightn't be for someone else, but it is for us.

Feels like bragging about a bet without showing your slip beforehand, but I feel like I can say now that I genuinely saw that coming. Didn't dare write it down in earnest, but I really did believe it. It just felt like the natural conclusion to what is very much the post-takeover era, before the guard presumably changes quite a bit in the summer. That group of people have given absolutely everything to that competition since 2022 - it feels like our name has been on it for ages now. To have beaten the teams we have along the way, and for only an unfortunate rick to have kept us out of the final last year.

 

After those amazing performances across the semi I just knew we'd turn up. Such a richly deserved win.
