Miggys First Goal
How long, realistically, did people think it would take to win the first trophy of the Saudi era?

I thought 3-5 years when they took over. When the Premier League started enforcing PSR and creating new rules, I thought it would be 10 years. In all honesty I thought that the League Cup was a cup that we should be looking to win, but would always face a difficult fixture somewhere along the lines. I thought our best hope for a cup would have came through the FA Cup, or the Europa League/Conference League.

My first season having a season ticket, was 1969/1970, I had only been able to afford occasional matches, as a young-un, before that. My first season (69/70) was the season AFTER we had just won the Fairs Cup - so some people actually called me a "Glory Hunter" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure how well the glory hunter tag worked out for me though???

The Butcher Posted Thursday at 10:59 Share Posted Thursday at 10:59 Sorry but, we can't have this on the second page. Dan Burn's goal is by far my favourite ever goal, and by quite some distance my most watched goal. I'll never ever tire of watching it back. https://x.com/jgnufc1/status/1910269236158623960
Ginola14 Posted Thursday at 13:35 Share Posted Thursday at 13:35 (edited) apart from the final my favourite game this season was our second leg 2-0 win over Arsenal just the way we setup and played, aggressively going man for man with Botman in the team alongside Schar and Burn which surprised everyone as well as doing it on a big occasion, evening game where atmosphere seemed immense winning the cup makes looking back at the semi final even more special and meaningful now also so glad Botman got to play an important role by putting in a full 90 in both legs and this same Arsenal team could win the CL, making it even more impressive Edited Thursday at 13:37 by Ginola14

Vedder Posted Thursday at 17:17 Share Posted Thursday at 17:17 They had the cup at the metro centre today. Not well advertised and the kids aren’t off school so there was no queue when we got there.
