Half past midnight kickoff, finally stumbled to bed pissed as a fart about 4am.  Up again at 6 for work.  Felt like shit but at the same time absolutely flying.  7/7 WBA.

Can't say I was taken by the fanzone experience, loads of lads off their tits and not fully focused on the match, one massive screen and one slightly smaller, but 7 foot Geordies planting themselves in front of you. And playing music over the footage in between and after, numbskulls 👎

Usually its a peep-peep-peep and a 'yaaaaay' but that was like a big goal. Think it all came out there from those that experienced the near misses first hand and those it was passed down to, the massive doubt were inflicted with.

VVD has gone up in my estimation.  May be a bit of a snide fucker and arrogant on the pitch.  But seemed to be genuine as fuck with Burn at the end and then he waited for our celebrations to die down to shake everyone's hand.  

 

Slot sort of praised us.  But also passive aggressive in half-moaning about how we were direct and slow with our play.  Whenever managers or pundits talk about direct, crosses, headers etc.  It's always as if they're complaining about it.  Not everyone wants to play boring, possession football with passing for passing's sake all the while.

I was thinking about this.  Obviously at the time it nearly killed me.  But them scoring the late goal, meant the win was even sweeter.  

 

I was never fully confident.  But at the same time, we were basically coasting for a lot of that second half at 2-0.  So to then get so nervy and think we were going to throw it away, the emotion seemed greater.

We were in the Times sq one, but a couple I know went to the NX and fucked off at half time because of the rave music being blasted out. Who makes these decisions?

Was at the Liberty rooms last time and it was preferable, despite the outcome

First goal: scored by a Geordie, who has just had his first England call up assisted by the first new signing of the era who galvanised the club and made sure we stayed up.

Second goal: Scored by our World Class striker, assisted by a boyhood Newcastle fan. 

 

Couldn't have picked four more deserving players to be involved with the goals
