PolskiMag Posted Saturday at 09:53 Share Posted Saturday at 09:53 (edited) Got here late last night, been out with kids to walk the river this morning, loads of toon tops, people beaming. My son asked why everyone is so happy here. Only negative were some mackems on flight across who started a little noise when seeing kids in black and white but they became quiet after a quick word in Polish. MCFC1894 Posted Saturday at 10:08 Share Posted Saturday at 10:08 Hi All, I hope you don't mind me posting on here. Just wanted to say congratulations on the League Cup win, The players and fans were absolutely outstanding on the day and fully deserved to lift the trophy. The game actually very much reminded me of City v Stoke in the FA Cup Final in 2011 in a sense of the fans and the players on the day the desire and passion was there for all to see. Enjoy the party celebrations today and make the most of it because you don't know when the next one will come along and that goes for all clubs (Hopefully the Rags never win anything ever again). I'm actually jealous of what yous have today and that's been serious, Although we've achieved so much under Pep it's all come at a cost regarding ticket prices and more tourists and it doesn't feel like my club anymore, I know success comes at a cost, Everything we've been slagging the Rags over for years is now happening to my club. That's why it's really important for you all to enjoy this trophy, If the success continues it could well go down the path that we are going down. Anyway, All of you enjoy your day you deserve it, Congratulations.

ED209 Posted Saturday at 10:32 Share Posted Saturday at 10:32 (edited) Glad I took tonight off work ages ago, getting into town for work at 7pm tonight would have been a bloody nightmare. Might be worth parking in Gateshead if from the south, can see the traffic being wild crossing the Tyne. Im going to park in Gosforth and walk in. Trying to avoid the city centre and Metro. On a match day when I’ve got the car I park in the (quite rough) estate opposite Elswixk Fire Station and walk in. Bout 10 mins from SJP

All of those years of beating them by fine margins have certainly been fantastic and never gets boring looking back on all of those occasions we've done it. Although the majority our fan base still have the most hatred towards United, Liverpool certainly push them close as their fans really are unbearable. The entitled twats thought that they just had to show up against Newcastle in the final, Little did they know Newcastle were fired up like they couldn't believe, Newcastle put them in there place and Liverpool couldn't live with the intensity that was shown that day. For a final that was a serious performance, Finals are normally cagey and teams normally afraid to make certain passes because of the risk it brings, Newcastle threw all of that out the window and gave it everything, Fabulous to watch. What I will say about them is that they have been very gracious in defeat. I didn’t expect that after the way they went on when they robbed us in the 99th minute or whatever it was the other season. Do think if we challenge them regularly then that will change.

You've hit the nail on the head with the last sentence. That will certainly change if and when Newcastle and Liverpool start competing at the top of the table. We never really had any trouble with Liverpool over the years, If anything we actually got on really well more so of the fact that we both hated United and that brought us together. All of that changed when we starred becoming successful. Nice to hear they were gracious in defeat all the same, Means there was no trouble afterwards and you could all enjoy the celebrations without any conflict.
