Newcastle United vs. Manchester United: 13/04/25 @ 16:30 (Sky Sports)

Recommended Posts

We absolutely can batter them but they absolutely can get a result too, surprised to see they've only conceded 16 away from home all season.

Scoring early (and first) is absolutely crucial. It could be a long day for them if we can get a goal in the first 20.

That being said, I always hate playing this lot, despite doing relatively OK against them in recent years. Definitely think the kick off time helps us - it should be a belting atmosphere.

Do you think you'll rotate? I'd expect so given season rests totally on EL now?

A little bit but nothing crazy.

Onana

Dalot

Mazraoui

Maguire

Lindelof

Dorgu

Ugarte

Eriksen

Mount

Fernandes

Zirkzee

Maybe something like that, with subs like Casemiro, Shaw, Hojlund, Mainoo etc. being used early to keep legs fresh.

No idea how he'll look at it though.

You are the expert on your team but from first glance that looks pretty much your 1st team? Gnacho looks the only name missing I usually see.

It's not really a two under Amorim. Fernandes and Mount are machines at tracking back so it would morph into a 4, especially when you have the ball.

My main hope is that Shaw and Mount play at least 45 minutes each and get through it without injury as I'd love them to be fully fit for next Thursday.

I'd love to see Mount get a lot of minutes as well

Yeah I don't think he'll play a second string. Just some minor changes.

Excellent player is Mount. Fitness is his issue not ability.

I just hope Tonali hits a rocket from outside the box that hits Onana square in the fucking face.

We are obviously the far better team but they have frustrated the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal with a low block which is what they will try and do to us. We have struggled at home to teams like West Ham , Brighton and Fulham this season when they have done similar to us so it could be a long afternoon trying to break them down . The fact Man United feel the need to play that way tells you how bad they are but that's a different story .

Would be stronger than last game when they fielded Eriksen and Casemiro tbf  . Still, not the part of the field they'll win the game unless their defenders have learnt how to step up and support their midfield by now.

Can’t agree on this one Frog, other than the fitness issues. Is he great at tracking back and intercepting? I don’t feel like he was at Chelsea at all but I didn’t watch them religiously

Some tidbits from Tindalls Presser:

Gordon with a late fitness test to "See if he's ready for the bench".

Willock is still out as they continue to observe concussion protocols.

Isak has trained all week and will be fit for Sunday.

Howe has been bed ridden for several days.
