Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Newcastle United: 04/05/25 @ 14:00 (Sky Sports)

Recommended Posts

As usual, starting the week flip flopping in confidence and right now I'm supremely confident. Here's why: it'll piss Eddie off that this fraud in the dugout at Brighton has done him twice, through sheer luck and VAR incompetence. Eddie knows he's the better manager, hell, everyone does. And he'll prove it. 3-1.

Welbeck is a decent-to-good PL striker at least. In years gone by you could make a YouTube video of "versus Newcastle" where the likes of Jason Roberts, Shane Long, Jon Walters and Morten Gamst Pedersen all looked like Pele and Eusebio's long lost illegitimate son.

Need to start strong (certainly not like Villa) and try and control the game. Pedro missing is certainly a plus, as he is a very decent player, and is the player who always seems to be the key when Brighton are playing well.

They're not in the greatest form, but, they're a decent team and we need to be on it from the off. We have struggled against the teams in the upper mid table positions this season, and it's vital we don't allow another one to put our champions league advantage at risk.

Brighton are an odd side at the moment as shown v West Ham. Concede goals very easily but have the players to bang a few in pretty quickly. I watched them a few weeks ago v Leicester though and they were awful and for much of the West Ham game they were pretty poor.

No idea what to make of this lot. Have a nagging feeling that stylistically this is a bad match up for us and a point would be a decent result. Whether that is sufficient remains to be seen.

I think recent shit results against them is swaying my confidence and then I see they go life and death with a poor West Ham team . I will still settle for a point but all three would be a massive boost and would take a bit of pressure off the Chelsea game.

Welbeck has been a nuisance against us as well but good that Pedro is not available.

You'd think they were about to finish top 3 looking at those ratings.

They are historically a small club. I'm sure they are happy to be competing in and around Europe.
