We are just not very good at breaking down low blocks.

We don’t have the attacking players for it and won’t until we buy a couple for the starting Xl. Nothing we didn’t know.

Square pegs in round holes and this five at the back has conceded the initiative, confident we’ll rectify this 2nd half but by god we need a midfielder in the summer if Howe doesn’t trust Willock and Longstaff anymore.

Tbf to Howe I don't trust either of those players anymore either.

Still playing Man U...

Man Utd has been all over them the entire half tbf. Been saying it all along, Villa allways struggle against Man Utd.

Kind of as expected. They're solid and make it tough in a low block. We lack that extra bit of guile further forward. Everything's a bit slow and plodding, it's always 2,3,4 touches. Don't know why Eddie doesn't try swapping Gordon and Barnes over for a bit as they've both been pretty ineffective and Barnes seems to click with Tino a bit more on the left.

Nervous 45 coming up as I feel they'll make something on the break at some point against our slow as fuck back line. Plus we really need one of our CBs stepping up or its 7 vs 11 going forward. Think they're playing it pretty well to be fair..

Gordon is the only one trying to make something happen. I don’t understand why singling him out.

its Murphy and Barnes who looks like a passenger

They're not seeing the ball it's all filtered down the left.

Think some of the criticism is predictably harsh but Barnes definitely looks a bit lost in this inside-right role. Gordon has been decent though, got at his man a few times.

Thought Murphy was okay too other than that brainless giveaway. Everton are defending well in numbers.

Ugh that was a hard watch. Any other game I wouldn't be worried but this isn't a normal game. Why can't we try Barnes on the left even just for ten mins, so strange we refuse to swap them at all.

Isak obviously half fit but the 3 at the back isn't gonna help is break a team down and they are successfully going long to Beto anyways as he is stronger and faster than all 3
