When exactly did you make this offer?

If it was more than 18 months ago, it could be worthwhile chancing your arm again.

Time hasn't been overly kind to her

Somebody wants us!

This helmet hair guy seems to have been spot on with his reporting on this. Hope he's right all the way through.

Also the no re sale value thing is bollocks, we got 18m for 31 year old Chris Wood. There's absolutely a world where we sell him in 2 years time for a similar fee (if that's what we wanted to do).

I think its a great signing because its an absolute tap in.

Gordon/Barnes

Isak/Wissa

Elanga/Murphy

Is good depth, for a change. With loads of flexibility too. I'd have no worries about Barnes, Wissa and Murphy lining up a game.

Totally agreed.

This could be a blessing in disguise frankly. Wissa for 35-40m vs Ekiteke at approaching 80m, with Wissa more of a sure thing presently.

We'd also have more money leftover as feel we need CB/CM.

Add Osula for further depth and that’s a pretty deep and good front 3 roster

And manager.

They won't give a fuck. Their model is working to perfection and they probably won't go down because of the standard of the promoted teams. (Sadly)

Kevin Shade had a really good season as well.

A bit of an odd one in that he's an entirely different profile to our other targets this window - definitely feels like a stop-gap in a lot of ways.

I do like him as a player though and he caused us problems last season. Just get this done and move on to sorting a CB out asap.

For people who said we’d settle for DCL and/or Wilson extension this is obviously a level above. And we were legit in for 2 others players who ended up at Chelsea and Liverpool

That line people trot out, 'happy to be a back up striker', I doubt he's happy to be that at all

He's going to be playing Champions League football and will have loads of starts because of all the extra games, and will also be paired with Isak at times too.

Going to get a nice bump in wages too!

Would be very concerned with anyone being happy as a backup

Probably some clumsy phrasing there, I’m sure he knows Isak is the star but he’ll get loads of minutes. Even at Brentford he was the least famous.

The fact he can play across the front with a striker or on his own so offers versatility does appear what we are after. Age profile not so much if top 2 were pedro and ekitike.

That’s a great point about Wood by the way.

Can’t be any better moves available at this stage of his career. Unless he just wanted direct Saudi cash I guess.
