southernmag
This'd still be a good signing. Heck, it's A signing. I can see us signing Wissa and a bunch of others with the Isak inheritance, forming a new identity, and having a great season proving a point to all who doubted/shafted us. Yorkie
I mean, hopefully it happens regardless of Isak. Isak might even yet stay.
AyeDubbleYoo
It's a good signing no matter what else happens. Of course we can't have him as our only senior striker

southernmag
A sale of Isak with incomings of top ST, backup ST (Wissa), and quality CM, CB, GK, is a net gain imo. Things can still work out for us.

If Isak leaves we are weaker regardless of what we do, but if we sign a bona fide replacement and Wissa, we've very much avoided disaster.

I can see that too - I completely trust Eddie to mould us into a team and although I don't want to lose Isak (especially not to Liverpool), if we get a decent fee I think we could do something great with it. I'm starting to have doubts about the common sense at the top of the club mind you, and if we haven't burned our bridges I'd be asking Amanda to come back in on a consultancy basis. My main worry now is we have a hell of a start to the season and it looks like we'll be starting without full recruitment completed, players still bedding in, and others like Hall a few weeks behind schedule. Agree, the issue wouldn't be having the money to strengthen, it'd be having the ability/nous to use it, and soon.

Time will tell but if Isak goes we need another striker. That target might be the #1 next season, we have to wait and see how this plays out

Weezertron
I mean we're desperate at this point. Isak will be given permission to move after Wissa is official I'd imagine. Nee Offense to Wissa, this isn't about him. But what a rotten window.

Instead we are now only open to start planning of preparations to discover potential targets

If we could pluck a Kane out of the academy in the next year or so it'd be a bit handy too like. Edited July 24, 2025 by Optimistic Nut
