This was what was done to Joelinton. I really don't want to hear anymore nonsense about players being disrespectful to fans when they pull these stunts, because there's fans that are no better than these guys. We are three games into the season and Thiaw has already been labelled Bramble/Boumsong and Elanga an Adama Traore, and there's people ready to escalate and shit on them further all over social media for the players to have to hear about and see for themselves. Thankfully most of the time these sorts of clowns just end up looking stupid when the players start delivering, and then comes the back tracking and fake over the top fawning. As long as fans like this exist then players like this must exist also. Very very true. Im not one to abuse our players so feel that this behaviour is disrespectful. Anyone who abuses our players for doing their job needs looking at. They're humans and they make mistakes. They have off days. Im a nurse and im not allowed to strike so this stinks for me. Bimpy474
How many more times does this need mentioning, he hasn't got just 10 months left, Brentford have the option for another year, which he has no say on. Like Sean Longstaff's contract we extended it to get a transfer fee. They would do the same, Shirley?
ElDiablo
Age + AFCON + last year of contract means 40m is more than a fair offer from a buyers perspective. If Brentford don't agree then fine, move on and Isak will have to stay.
Boey_Jarton
I don't see the Wissa situation as much different to Isak at all. And if Brentford want to keep him for the last year of his contract fair play to them. If our ownership were willing to use their their strategic portfolio to our advantage, they should offer players in Wissa's age category a cushty move to the Saudi pro league after 2-3 years to minimise PSR impact of older players. This could be a win-win for both Newcastle and their domestic league. PIF need to be exploring these options.

Didn't refuse to play even though playing meant he now is cup tied for us, which could have put us off any possible deal. Also the fact he was only able to come on as a sub and had gone off early in the previous league game would suggest he does have a slight injury. Paulinho
Theres really no need to be morally consistent across the Wissa and Isak situations. It’s football - you’re supposed to be partisan. Wissa is good because his interests coincide with the interests of Newcastle. Isak’s a verminous piece of shit because his wishes are detrimental to our interests. It’s fine. nufc4eva
That and 40 million is a very fair offer whereas Liverpool's is insulting. Plus Isak had no agreement we would sell him verbal or otherwise and just downed tools because he wants to force it.

Even that should depend on Liverpool paying a premium for Isak otherwise we shouldn't be selling him either. He's one of the world's elite strikers and there's barely a handful.
