I could see that go either way. Sounds like AFCON is a pretty big deal for the players but also he knows we forked out a big pile of cash for him to receive the move he wanted, probably more than we wanted to pay and he has to realize we've gotten fuck all so far for our troubles. Technically not true I think. Makalele retired from International football but France called him up anyway and threatened to get him banned if he didn't turn up.
