Similar to Wright, but my main point was more around there's less natural decline due to age with a Wissa, to a Vardy. He's pace isn't the main attribute, so any slow down wouldn't see too much fall.off.

I was looking at his stats when we signed him and he’s played something like 200 less professional games than Ollie Watkins. He doesn’t have much mileage on him for a player his age really.

7 touches - half of which must have been to a red shirt, and 2 passes. Really struggled to get involved.

The second half was a one-sided affair. Manu was completely exhausted.

Eddie shouldn't have substituted Nick; he should have played him alongside Wissa.

Didn't help that we took off the only winger in our squad who delivers the ball into the right areas with any consistency just as he came on like. 

 

Thought some of his movement was decent.

Good movement but ignored by the rest of the side who have either been instructed to, or would rather, randomly ping the ball into the box and pray for a ricochet.

 

Playing him with Woltemade might be interesting but it won't happen in a month of Sundays under the current manager.

100% this. Defences will struggle to deal with it as one will come short and other will look to stretch the back line. I would give Wolt free reign to roam and get midfielders to make runs past him.

If he’s going to start, he should probably replace Woltemade in the starting lineup (which would have been the plan prior to his injury anyway)

given that the third midfielder has been so ineffective recently, I’d agree with some of the comments above. Can’t see why we haven’t tried him and Woltemade together at all.

 

Not that he looked like getting on the end of anything tonight anymore than Woltemade did, like.

Eddie hasn't even tried it yet. We're playing so ineffectively right now, we should be willing to experiment. It can't get any worse.

Wissa IMO has to play LW if we are playing Murphy RW, with Wolte through middle (in games/situations where we will have most of the ball).

 

Take that Murphy cross first half that was insanely on the money. Wissa would be crashing in at back post to score it, unlike Gordon, because he has that natural strikers instinct. And if he’s not doing that, then it’s concerning. But for me, that’s what I’d like to see moving forward.

Woltemade can be so clever with some of his touches that a good old fashioned striker partnership between the two of them does seem really attractive.
