Still early days in a disjointed attack, my biggest concern with him is his work ethic rather than his goal scoring ability at the moment. Some of his movement (or lack thereof) has been extremely lazy so far.

Agreed. He's shown he can press well but often it's so bad and looks half-arsed.

I'll keep saying it - you watch football with your eyes. This lad doesn't look a player at all. He can find himself in decent positions which is a positive but shown zero composure or technical fluidity.

I do expect him to improve. Find his shooting boots. But this is never a £55m attacker.

People keep talking about his record. It's 1 great season, 1 decent one. But players are still scouted by people and there's lots of data points as such. I struggle to believe trustworthy scouts and sophisticated data models said this lad is worth £55m.

But I do expect him to improve. Maybe he needs a good finish or two and the composure will come into his game. He showed some decent finishes at Brentford and ability to be in the right space at the right time. But tbh - all Brentford attackers seem to do that. I think maybe our style requires more from a striker. Wood was good before joining us and excellent after.

He's the definition (on his showing so far) of a bang average premier league player. I'm yet to see anything to hang my hat on to say "he's good at that", or "he's that type of player". To me he's just a body on a pitch offering almost nothing in any regard. Pretty dreadful movement, slow, poor finishing, no link up play etc.

Compare that to Nick, who has been poor recently granted, but at least you can see what he's good / outstanding at, even if we're not playing to his strengths.

For me, I'd play Woltemade every game and use Wissa / Osula as subs. It's the only way to get the best out of Nick long term and get him back amongst the goals.

Good luck in getting Howe to change his system to get the best out of Woltemade.

I may be being unreasonable, but he's the one I have lost patience with completely. Just doesn't look bothered at all. The goals he has scored to date have pretty much been scuffed or a bit flukey, and other chances have been awful in terms of execution.

Just not at it at all.

I said it a few weeks ago but had to take it back because it was very early to say he looks not botherd. Fuck me for a player who played in crap teams most of career he strolls around pointing at what other players should doing and where they should be pressing like he's fucking messi.

He dosn't put enough effort in, simple as that. When he did against PSV we played well. But overal we paid 55m for what Wilson could've offered for free.

I’m probably the most worried about this guy in comparison to other out of form players. Elanga and Wolt look like they’ve got something to me but either it isn’t working for them in the system or confidence. Ramsay looks like he’s slowly building something. I’m not sure what Wissa offers. Add his age and the length of time he missed at the start of the season I think we’ll look back on this as a mistake. Obviously hope I hope I’m wrong.

He looks miles off it doesn’t he and worryingly the type of chances I thought he’d take in the box he’s getting there late. It is a worry, maybe last season was his Almiron purple patch but you have to think and hope there’s still more to come.

He's playing poorly but I think he scored more goals/90 in any of his 4 seasons at Brentford than this season?

He scored a goal in his first start for us before fading. Woltemade also had an excellent start with us before fading so it's the same story. At this moment I will give the benefit of doubt to anyone, it's more about the way we play, we just can't give enough supply to our striker. It looks like even if we had Haaland or Mbappe they would struggle to score for us...

Fuckin loved Ruel. Running at players and an end product with a cross. Could nick a goal too. I miss wide players like that.

He played with an attacking talismans in Mbuemo at Brentford and a team who farmed goals from set pieces and created consistently high quality chances every game often on the break.

Wissa probably never faced a low block in his life before he came to us.

Just had a look at his highlights reel from last season, mainly because when we signed him I thought it was a bit meh/underwhelming and others had thought it showed his real quality.

10 of the goals were inside the six yard box. 5 of these were tap ins (in right place ball broke to him). 4 were instinctive one touch finishes (two headers, one from corner one from a bobble; one lovely swivel shot, one with right foot from a cross). The other was a right footed effort where he took a touch first.

The other nine included four where he ran with the ball into the box (a nice right footed chip, three other right footed finishes). Two strikes with his left foot; a good header; another right footed chip and a right footed deflected goal.

19 goals is a great tally. There’s not much in the nature of the goals though, even from by far the best season of his career,  to suggest we are likely to see him terrorising defences and creating much for himself.

So many players like that who just have immense seasons. Papisse Cisse went 13 in 14 for us in the PL, then went  24 in 102.

Never buy a player who appears to be at their absolute peak when they rely on service or play in a different style or formation, unless its clear they have a lot of talent.

On the evidence of the last three games away against top class opposition I’d respectfully disagree. Over the three games we had 30 attempts, some very good chances. Isak in last year’s form would have filled his boots, let alone the two you mention who on top of being clinical finishers are capable of creating their own chances out of pretty much nothing.

As well as avoiding the "proven Premier League player" market from now on, I think we need to make it policy to never again sign players who down tools to get more money somewhere else. It's a clear indicator of a lack of moral fibre. I bet he knows very little about Sean Connery either.

He’s not quite clicking with the press yet, he needs time. Some of the new players have really suffered from the schedule/lack of time training I think (Wissa, Elanga). Hes missed chances he should have bagged but that’s football, much like the rest of the squad he’s not exactly riding on high on confidence.

It seems to be mostly already forgotten on here that he had a freak injury and was out for the entire first half of the season, I think he can be afforded a little more leeway than he’s currently getting here. I think him forcing the move while Isak did what he did has tainted him for a few people and some were waiting with the knives out.

Him and Elanga you will see the best of next season I believe, assuming we don’t get CL qualification anyway.

Bit alarmed at him sort of trundling along in his recent appearances. Maybe the brakes aren't fully off after his lengthy spell out but it looks like he's lacking a bit of urgency in his play
