My guess is that he's been sat down and is being discreetly hammered with an intense regimen to get him up to speed fitness wise. Knock in training when we're not training sounds a bit dubious.

I'm really hoping this is what's been happening. Very annoying if he did actually pick up a knock.

Not all his fault but been such a poor signing so far.

Given the age profile and cost probably our worst of the summer.

Not good, but for some reason I remain irrationally confident that he comes good.

There's nothing irrational about it. The logical explanation is that the combination of: having no pre-season, a really bad injury (the first in his career), and entering a pretty dysfunctional team - has knackered any prospect of him coming flying out the traps. More logical than he's simply become a bad player overnight.

Someone else been force-feeding him cakes and mince pies while he was out injured then? :)

I have just realised what I posted, I generally call mounjaro umbungo anyway the Congo link was totally unintentional on my part.

Dr Freud would believe you :)

Easy done mate, I didn’t think it was intentionally iffy :)

it genuinely wasn’t meant to be iffy at all. I apologise if anyone is offended by it. I didn’t mean it with any kind of undertone.

I meant the fat lump needs to loose some clem and fat jabs might help.

My cousin calls them umbongo jabs as well - my auntie was on them last year.  I don’t think a racist 80s advert was what you were thinking of.

Eddie saying in his presser he thinks he’ll be back for Qarabag.

To be fair no point trashing him against City anyway. Hopefully a morale boosting outing against the Qaraballbags next week.

Feel like that adds to the theory mind. Tuesday is basically a pre-season game. Shitshow in Man City semi, spend a fortnight doing some intense fitness stuff, target the Qarabag dead rubber in two weeks' time. Hopefully can be a turning point for him.

Also Eddie’s answer when asked what was specifically wrong with him, wasn’t the most convincing…

Yeah it’s got to be along these lines hasn’t it. Take him out the firing line and do some proper work with him, meaning he didn’t have to do all the travelling involved with the last few weeks too.
