He doesn't even deserve to be talked about in the same sentence as Cisse at this stage.

Cisse would stick away the chances Wissa is getting with his eyes shut. Of the flaws in his game finishing was certainly not one.

What I can’t understand is he looked worse and worse since coming back. His best games probably were the first two games coming back. It’s really weird.

Complete lack of pre season catching up with him

Not just saying it after the event but I wouldn’t have. He’s fucking hopeless. Genuinely. Cunt has 72 year old knees.

The only race he’s in danger of winning is ‘quickest way to waste £55m of all time’.

The worst use of funds in many a long year this prick.

It's strange because he looked like he had more mobility after his first couple of games when he actually scored. I swear there was a couple of games where he actually pressed really fast and showed a burst of acceleration. But now he looks paggered so I think there might be merit in what Joeyt's saying, maybe it's the lack of pre-season catching up with him.

I’d also suggest he’s carrying weight imho.

Where is this player - one thing to note - doesn't seem to score any headers.  So pumping the ball into the box isn't playing to his strengths - needs it to his feet.

This is a player I'd sign. All right foot apart from one, I think. But seems to be favouring his left here? Don't know what's happening. Have we got his evil twin?

Just poking about on Understat, but I see that Thiago has 17xG for Brentford (he's taken 7 pens). Schade for them also has 8.

When he was fit, it was a common observation that Liverpool were not creating chances for Isak like we used to. I think its clear that we are not doing the same for Wissa the way Brentford used to. According to Understat's data, big Nick has 7 off 7xG and Wissa 1 off 2.3. This is a fraction of what Brentford are creating for their strikers. We've only scored four fewer than them as a team, so this relates to playing style as well.

(I've been disappointed in Wissa so far, so I certainly get that)

It’s being overlooked on here by most, but an injury putting him out for half a season like he was is totally brutal.

He’s come into an underperforming side with no match sharpness and nowhere near as fit as he could be, he’s also unfortunately missed a few he could have scored which hasn’t exactly reinvigorated his confidence any. Long story short, if Isak of last season was in this current side the way it’s playing he’d not score many either.

He will be fine, the over reaction on here has been nuts.

I don't think we've created anywhere near as many chances for him as we should be. Our wing play this season has been dreadful, only Barnes out of our 4 wingers getting pass marks, and our midfield, not only hasn't been offering protection for the defence, but hasn't been creating enough offensively either.

However Wissa has to do more for himself. He has had chances that he's snatched at and his work rate off the ball is very poor. There's also the question of how well he understands the offside rule if this season is anything to go by!

Unfortunately at the age he's at he was bought to hit the ground running. He's a player who is probably on the decline now so if he's not doing it now there's a big question of whether he'll be doing it next season when he's 30, then the season after that when he's 31.

They used lack of preseason as an excuse for Isak for 3 months, so he still has a month left of being excused. Make that 4 months, as he also missed half of the season.

Genuinely wonder if he has got his boots on the wrong feet when he turns out for us.

I was watching that and thinking if he tried those finishes currently, they'd be in row z, the corner flag, scuffed wide, etc...

Yes he has had a bad injury but there's a sign I used to see when playing rugby at a previous club and it was something along the lines of 'things that take zero talent...being disciplined, putting effort in, working hard', etc... Wissa does none of that so far and I'm not having the knee injury for him ambling about looking like he's playing Sunday league.

Personally I never meant to use it as an excuse, it was more of a dig at the Liverpool fans who used that excuse for months.

Still can't shake off the fact that he scored 18 non penalty goals in a season last season, for a mid table team.. 12 goals in less minutes the season before, also for a mid table team. I doubt that he was playing exactly like what we are seeing now. He's obviously in bad form at the moment.

I think come the summer Osula will move on and we will bring in a young good value affordable striker around the same age as him, but with more experience who is more ready to play, and who can realistically challenge for a first team place and push Wissa into more of the Callum Wilson role of the past few years if he doesn't improve.

Well, if he can match what Callum Wilson did for us 2-3 years ago minus the injuries, then he would probably be a regular starter. We're talking 20+ at that point.

Nah, I meant more of the latter day Wilson. Emergency option.

If we sign a striker I am fairly confident Wissa will be punted to Fenerbahce or another of the more-money-less-effort leagues. Which is sad because I thought he would be brilliant but he's absolutely shite (from what we've seen so far).

We need like 45m for him in order to not make an accounting loss. Anyone paying that is stupider than what we were. I imagine he will be here next season  due to that alone.

Hope he isn't on daft money.

He was also playing week in week out for Brentord wasnt he? The lack of pre-season and injury has fucked things.

Hard to get into any type of decent form with new teammates not playing in a system that knows how to score or set up goals, all when he plays 60 mins one match then 30, then.

I was still hoping for way more from him though.

I saw comparisons between him and Defoe when he signed, and I do agree that they are quite similar in terms of playing style.

But I was also a bit worried because Howe worked with Defoe at Bournemouth, and it was a complete failure there. Maybe Howe just can't bring the best out of this type of players.

Should be sub only until he can get his fitness and sharpness back. Not contributing anything positive when he starts lately. Osula weirdly is probably ahead of him at the moment in terms of effectiveness.
