SteV
An odd season in many ways. Can’t think of a goal that was definitively and obviously his fault. A couple (Spurs, mackems) that probably resulted from his indecisiveness in dealing with crosses. But then, the Man Utd game apart, I can barely remember him making a save of note. The exact opposite of Pope basically. Edited June 2 by SteV
Menace
Pretty funny reading this thread from the start - must be the first time in a long while the majority were in agreement that he's shite.

Shays Given Tim Flowers
the right call. Will it be one keeper or two?

Amir_9
Had a handful of okay games but that's where it starts and ends. Still remember being in the Gallowgate during Chelsea at home and that free kick was very very saveable. That's what put Chelsea back in the game. The Bonk
Should have kept Dubs:

Astroblack
A lot better than I expected but in the end, not good enough. That overhead kick from Romero should have been saved. Those points could have turned our fortunes.

Squawka also had Darlow ranked No. 1 in their system: https://www.squawka.com/en/features/position-ranking-premier-league-best-goalkeepers-right-now/

This bloke bound to get himself a decent gig in the PL again next year and get back into the England squad
Elbel1
I'd quite like to see him play at St James' next season. Just as long as he's not wearing a Newcastle kit.

McEwan
So as of now it's just Pope, Vlachodimos, Aidan Harris, and Gillespie.
r0cafella
Wouldnt be surprised to see him return honestly, Soton will be desperate to shift him.
ikri
He's not a terrible keeper by any means but he clearly doesn't communicate with the defenders well. You could see clear hesitation from the defenders where they would be expecting him to come for a ball, or at the very least shout that he wasn't, and it led to mistakes and poor clearances. Ultimately, players will prefer to play alongside someone they trust even if they're technically worse.
Fenham Mag
If I had to rank him amongst our recent keepers, he'd be below Rob Elliot but around same level as Karl Darlow.

Always felt that people thought he was better with his feet than he actually was, probably because he wasn't Pope, but even so that surprises me a bit.
