First 20 pages will be people complaining about the prices that are being quoted. Same people will become impatient by page 40 and have started to fantasize about what positive stuff he can bring to the table. Rumours will fizzle out or he'll go to another club by page 100 and the last 20 pages will be various irrational posts about PIF incompetence, Howe's shortlist, how it somehow is Mitchells fault, the cartel clubs conspiring against us and some random shit like best combo of spices to use on air fried chickpeas.

I reckon a little bit of cumin on them bad lads sports them out or paprika.

The reporting of everything this summer, has been accurate so far, although I'll be loathe to admit it.

Ekiteke situation. Isak, Mbeumo, Sesko - has been pretty on the nail so far.

Just hope this Jackson story has absolutely no legs.

One of the best ways to judge a player is to have a look at what their clubs own fans think of him.

Have a look at what Forest fans say about Elanga, Brentford fans say about Wissa and then compare that with Chelsea fans about Jackson. There was even a Chelsea fan in another thread on here saying he wasn't up to much.

There’s people in here were saying that about Gordon at one point last season.  My boss is a Chelsea fan and he thinks Jackson and Howe would be a good match up. Disclaimer- unless they’re playing us I don’t watch Chelsea play.

They’ll nearly triple their money if it’s £80 million. We can never moan about others bailing out the big teams if we do this.

As for us, fail to prepare, prepare to fail. The kind of amateur shite I thought we’d left in the past.

He's not going to cost £80m man.

Out of interest, why would he be s better fit than Jackson?

A major reason is because we're really likely to sign Wissa. If we also got Jackson we'd be left playing Osula and Gordon during AFCON.

Because people have seen Jackson be a no mark in Spain and in England.

At least Ramos has showed some promise in Portugal.

I thought longstaff would be a good fit for Liverpool.

I don’t know why we’re faffing about in the Premier League. Chelsea got Jackson from Villareal two years ago for 32 mil. Why aren’t we scouting players on the continent? We could get some decent buys from Spain, France, Germany and Holland for 30. Very annoying transfer strategy.

I’ll say it again, £80m is micey and we want shooting with shit if we pay anywhere near that.

But, a lot of analysts rate him very highly and there’s some really decent reads about him in the athletic.

Cheaper for a start, a player we fancied at Benfica, Jackson also just seems brainless at times. Ramos appears to be a better finisher not all of his goals are tap ins and it’s not giving Chelsea a ridiculous amount of money to basically pay for the two players they nabbed off us. Aldo Ramos won’t be away for AFCON

Need to see them fail in the PL before we overpay for them

The absolute dregs and at this point I don't buy that our interest in a player owes to some kind of deep analysis, including background checks and a precise sense of how they are going to fit into our team. We just seem to be running through the most obvious list of names with a growing air of desperation.

I hope so. it's obviously the best case scenario at this point. just seems incredibly unlikely. he's been (rightfully) ostracised from the group already.

have there been any similar situations where it's got this bad with the manager, team + fans and they've found a way back?

Rooney, Ronaldo, Kane, Modric, Suarez, Coutinho, Zaha all handed in transfer requests and did something similar to this to try and force a move only for their club to say no, then they stayed and played well. All but Zaha and Rooney were still sold later, but crucially abroad instead of to a domestic rival.

IF we end up with Jackson after the cartel have hoovered up all the goodies and sold us a pup with their cast offs. I bet Eddie will somehow get the best out of him, however he has to shoehorn him into a system. You watch. IF we get him that is.

This - must have - premier league experience is going too far with with one. If it develops.

Depends on the price I suppose. But yes, we should be picking these players up a lot earlier, but I guess Howe considers that too much of a risk.
