McCormick
Gotta get the long-sleeve, surely? Wears it better than anyone in the squad.

I chose the short jersey because I prefer wearing it in the summer or when I watch Magpies games on TV. Then I sit in front of the TV in the jersey. I didn't know a lot about his time before and at Bremen. Wolte was very much under the radar in Germany during that time. It's incredible when you watch his scenes. When you watch his scenes one after the other, you can't help but be amazed. What a brilliant player. He's a given for me, like Salah is for the Reds. In my opinion, he's one of the best strikers in the world. But I'm probably biased because I really like his style of play and his personality. Bremen were fresh back in the Bundesliga after some years in Bundesliga 2 so the jump up to Stuttgart was quite a big one so you can understand why he made the move. Hopefully he’s a Bruno and really buys into the club rather than a more transient presence like Isak. Either way I’d think it would be naive to think there isn’t some sort of release clause after this summer. Hopefully it’s 120m+ and if it’s ever an issue it’s because he’s been absolutely fucking mint.

Obviously, interviews are basically curated/PR to an extent but I don't get the feeling he'd stoop so low to refuse to play, even if he didn't fall in love akin to Bruno. Fella didn't make a meal of a genuine elbow to the face, and seemed to be principled in his response on-field and after. I respect that, and I think respect/principles are something he seems to value too. Edited October 9, 2025 by Casey
Mole
Yeah not something I really want to think about 6-7 games into his career lol, but I suspect he'll be a professional lad no matter what.

They made a pretty strong effort to sign him this summer, but were determined to force Stuttgart to accept less money, and would have been hoping that Woltemade kicked up a big stink to force the move, but he didn't go for it, even though he was obviously interested in joining them at the time. He was happy to stay at Stuttgart if Bayern couldn't agree a fee and was getting on with things there.

Also, he seems pretty artsy so I can see him being romantic and not just purely driven by business considerations. I won't count my chickens, but I think we should bed in to enjoy him. The Woltemade, Botman, Bruno, Tonali, Isak, Thiaw style of player works best for us. Still expensive, but potential world class players who the big 6 won’t take a risk on just yet. The College Dropout
Fantastic value below the Prem. Watkins. Rogers. Bowen. Olise. Eze. Wharton. All come through the Championship or lower. It’s been a goldmine for Palace.
