Sibierski
When we can’t play to his strengths when starting, having you hope spent a few training sessions on shape / play for that game, we sure as hell won’t play well with him coming off the bench when things are disjointed. TheInfiniteOdyssey
He does need to be more aggressive with defenders. There was a duel with Konsa(?) in which he was easily brushed away.

Because in my opinion, you either have that instinct or you don't, and I don't think he's that type of striker.

Without sounding too cliche, I don’t think he’s got the nasty streak in him to bully defenders and give it right back to them like other big man strikers in the modern game or from seasons gone. Smal
I think he needs a kick up the arse tbh. He’s quickly nosediving here and I’d like him to look like he’s willing to try and fight for his place a bit more.

ryanegg
I’m one of his biggest fans, but he really needs to start eating meat again by the looks of things. Doesn’t help in the slightest that we’re not playing to his strengths.
Elephant
If you go look at FotMob how he played prior to us: Germany U21 he had his best games as winger on 4-3-3. He also played 4-4-2 as other striker. Stuttgart he played number 9 or 10 in 4-2-3-1 (he did well with Undav as both played 9 and 10) and striker at 4-4-2. He did not play as lone 9 at all, they always have close support from 10 or other striker He has not played as 9 in 4-3-3. He’s much better when playing in different role and I don’t understand why we keep him in that role. We paid ridicolous money on player who made breakthrough only last season. But it’s NOT Nick’s fault we went ridicolous. I wish we had bought him for £15m and he would have less pressure.

Jack14Bojangles
Nick simply doesn't fit into Eddie's tactical system. He can't utilize his strengths in this setup. He's not the number 9, the penalty-box striker, the powerhouse. His place is behind the striker or in a system with two strikers. He's so talented, but it's not going to work in this system. If things stay this way, he has to leave, otherwise he'll lose his place in the national team. Nagelsmann relies on players who get plenty of playing time at their clubs and therefore have a certain level of form. Nick's form from the early months is currently gone. And he won't regain it in this system, especially when he is Wissas backup. My enthusiasm has evaporated, and I currently see a bleak future for him. Magpie Mover
He's a talented player but never a conventional number 9. He's going to continue to struggle here if the coach continues to play him in the current system that doesn't suit him at all.
Menace
There's more to it than just "he doesn't fit the system" I honestly don't know what he does well in the last 2 months. Looks like a complete passenger. Hopefully just fatigue because for me it's worrying.

We need to replace the rat and his Howe type abilities. Who that is I dont know. Hope I'm wrong by the way and it all falls into place.

Conjo
Did better in the side before he knew our system and played more of his own game. Howe talked a great deal about it taking some time for the team to find a way to effectively use him at the start of the season, but it seems with time that he is trying to make him play similar to the way Isak and Wilson did for us rather than the team adjusting to his qualities. We're never going to see the best of him as long as we continue to funnel the ball out wide and hoping he can get on the end of crosses.

I wouldn’t blame him if after a while he’s already bored of the lack of technical ability in this squad. No-one within 20 yards of him, crosses 24/7, balls more often down his throat rather than into his feet. We can ask him to run harder to chase down CBs, but that’s not his game. When we don’t progress the ball effectively through the middle and play between the lines, that’s a large part of getting his quality involved gone.
